Josh's house is amazingly located and very comfortable with tons of room for a family to spread out. Our teens loved having their own separate areas. The a/c worked great. We missed being able to hear the ocean at night - definitely could not leave doors or windows open due to biting gnats and mosquitos but the views from the patio are incredible and we spent tons of time out there. We waited too long to try snorkeling the beach below the house, and the day we tried there was too much current to get the full experience but there was a lot to see, as good as anywhere else we went (we tried La Chiva Island, Media Luna and Mosquito Pier, all lovely). Biolum tour with Pirate's Bay was excellent. As vegetarians we struggled to find great food but had nice meals at Tin Box, Coqui Fire, and Rising Roost - which also sold us a nice bottle of organic wine. We found Supermarcado Morales to be better stocked than Family Grocery. Josh was a great host and we'd highly recommend this house!

Girls Get Away La Buena Vida is an amazing place to stop, relax and enjoy the island. The views from our patio were outstanding, waves and surfers during the day and glorious sunsets in the evening. The entire house was immaculately clean. The beds were very comfortable. The main living room/dining room area is large with plenty of seating for everyone, a great place to listen to the waves at night. The kitchen was spacious, clean, and well stocked for creating your own meals. The house is close to town, we walked to breakfasts (Rising Roost) and to purchase fresh bread (Lydia’s) in the morning. Josh is a very responsive host. We rented a car from him. Bring your own snorkel equipment, sun and salt is hard on the items at the house. I highly recommend spending time at this special home.

We stayed at Josh’s place from December 16th-22nd. The view from the porch is gorgeous. We had coffee and breakfast each morning and when possible meals on the porch. I would recommend taking some citronella candles to help deter the mosquitos. We had citronella incense that worked fairly well. There was also some repellent available. It comes with the territory of being in a beautiful place like Vieques. There is so much to do! We found a beach by talking to a local that was our favorite near the house. It is called Bastimento Beach. The beach Josh recommends called La Chata is also nice. Otherwise, we rented Josh’s jeep which was a great addition. A car is definitely needed. We booked snorkling and Bio Bay tours. I recommend privates vs the large groups for a more personal experience. I had my 90 and 96 year old parents with us and they would have enjoyed that more. We explored many beaches during our stay. Our favorite was Caracas Beach near Esperanza w/ a hiking trail

Our Family had an Amazing time staying in this Beautiful Hidden Gem , we felt like we were in Paradise. We took our family snorkeling to 3 different beaches . We got to see stingrays,a few turtles and a variety of tropical fish . We walked along the beach in front of the house every morning and saw a Many horses and Iguanas. Found many conch shells and corals . Josh was an Amazing host , always responded quickly to our questions . And gave remarkable recommendations. We definitely will travel back and stay here again.
