Pros: - Carl and his wife is very responsive and helpful. Carl picked me up at the ferry station when I arrived on the island. I was given welcome drink (which is really good)! - Internet is not the fastest but good for the island standard (better than some resorts here) if you need to work remotely. Download speed is 5 mbps. - Very quiet surroundings - Has private BBQ place/courtyard where you can hang clothes/diving gears. Cons: - Bathroom has a lot of stains. Perhaps can use some deep cleaning there. - During my stay, there are constant power outages on the island. The place has a generator that didn’t function as expected at the time. It was very hot and I could not bear it. After my check out, the host told me the generator had been fixed and can serve guests now. - Tap and bath water are pretty salty water. This is common on the island among dive shop/hostel/homestay. If you go to higher end resort, their water is less salty. I guess they use more filtering there.

Carl Jules’ place which is run by him and his wife is in a very central location, close to dive shops and places to eat. We were diving with Evolution who are right next door which was super convenient. Place is as described and although it is nothing fancy, it is a great no frills accommodation to use a base for your activities on the island. The room itself has AC, private bathroom, hot water, comfortable bed and good internet. There is a shared common outdoor kitchen with cooking facilities and drinking water. Property is also on a private lot with plenty of outdoor space so it was great to be so close to everything without being cramped up. Communication and service from the host was superb. They are super responsive went above and beyond during our stay such as arranging transport to and from the island, motorbike rentals, ferry schedules and more. Would definitely stay here again and recommend if you are considering staying here.

Nice room, fairly spacious.very good location, nice outdoor space for sitting and cooking. Carl is an excellent host, very willing to help with whatever you need and give recommendations. Thank you!
