I feel bad writing this review as I don’t like to knock others businesses but the listing description and the reality of this apartment was gaping. I write this in the hope that they make good on their promise to address the issues I highlighted to them (with photos), for future guests. Things missing or not working, broken fixture and fittings, and the apartment was grimy with large and unpleasant carpet stains throughout. Excellent host with brilliant communication, however a few things to note. Depending on which apartment you are given will depend on how accurate the description is. This is not mentioned in the listing. Described as 2 Televisions, with one in the bedroom, not true (also not connected to digital or terrestrial aerials, however Netflix is provided for free) . Described as having free onsite parking, also not quite true (parking on site is pay and display), there is free public parking a few minutes walk away, but no good if you've got a van full of tools that you want protected better. The main one that annoyed us was that the Host advertises that residents get a 15% discount with the restaurant next door. They do not. We had to have a very awkward and embarrassing conversation with the owner when it came to paying the bill only to find out that Fahmid has nothing to do with the restaurant. False advertising at its finest. The other issue is, if you're going to charge a cleaning fee then please actually have the apartment cleaned properly. The bathroom was covered in black mold due to a poorly positioned extractor fan and very little attention to detail with the cleaning. Also expecting residents to clean their own dishes before putting them away, are these then cleaned and sanitised by the cleaners? I suspect not as the ones we pulled out of the drawer were filthy. A stain covered Sofa Bed was certainly not what I expected either. What I will say, however, is that aside from the above points the apartment was ideal. Very comfortable beds, great location, very friendly locals and a wonderful restaurant next door (even if it's not related as falsely advertised). As a side note, it didn't seem safe that a multi-occupancy building across 3 floors had no fire exits, no escape plan for people on the top floor and the ground floor main entrance door is locked and cannot be opened from inside without a key. Please consider this if you are visiting with anyone with restricted mobility. The fire alarm is also due a service as it had a myriad of faults on screen of which they had all been muted and ignored (we work in the security industry). I have photos to prove all of the above if required.
