It’s hard to know where to start when reviewing Kumbura – it’s just one of the most magical places we’ve ever stayed. You are surrounded by beautiful Sri Lankan countryside which is literally teeming with life (kingfishers, peacocks, monkeys, hummingbirds, etc etc). And you will leave wishing Manjula could cook for you forever, and so sad to have to say goodbye to her and this very special place. We hope to come back many times more

Not sure if I've ever left a review for any place I've stayed at, good or not so good, but Ceciles beautiful home stands head and shoulders above all the others. Its stunning and exactly how I wanted to start this tour of Sri Lanka. The only downside is that I can't imagine that the other places we have booked will be half as good so we should have booked it again for our last few days on the island. Manchula, the cook, and her team were fantastic. Amazing food and always there if we needed any help, they made us feel super comfortable and at home. we were sad to leave but definitely plan on coming back one day. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us Cecile!

Ceciles fully serviced villa has the best of both worlds - the functionality and personality of a private villa but also the staff support and service level of a top hotel. From booking the Ceciles team were helpful providing travel instructions and booking, menus and local activities. The arrival was smooth and the actual property is attractive, considered and in immaculate running order. the outdoor areas, including an infinity pool overlooking Paddy fields with wild peacocks, were a highlight. The cleaner, cook and security guard were very considerate going the extra mile to support the 2 families staying who has a 6 month old, 2 year old and 4 year old between us. Manjula deserves a special mention as she was truly fantastic and even looked after our children so we could enjoy our meals. The perfect setting for a relaxing or adventurous holiday with plenty to do nearby! Nothing whatsoever to complain about!

Ceciles place is not another air bnb property. its a home. carefully curated and done up by the host and gracious enough to let guests use the facilities. Kumbura means paddy fields in Sinhala and it sits plonk 360 degrees amongst luscious green fields. Was so lovely to spend a week at this glorious villa . We loved spending time by the pool just looking at the amazing scenery and listening to the temple chanting. The food prepared daily by Mangela was excellent using lovely fresh ingredients . The house is stylish and tastefully furnished. Everything was super clean . We treated ourselves to a fantastic massage looking out across the paddy fields which was super relaxing . I would 100 percent go back and 100percent recommend for a fabulous holiday .
