Our daughter Lizzy stayed with Laila and HC over the summer while she interned at the University of Bergen. Laila was very communicative with me knowing that our daughter was far away. Here’s what Lizzy had to say: Laila and crew made me feel so lucky to be spending time in Norway. She made me cakes and always answered my constant questions about Norway and the nature surrounding us. I stayed with them for roughly 2.5 months and while I missed home, I had a home here too. Laila is wonderful and kind and impressively cares for her garden and many pots of tomatoes. I loved hearing about all of the outdoor adventures that she was always going on. It was always clean and quiet and the home is in such a lovely location for going on short or long hikes. This was a wonderful place for me to spend my summer. I only wish them the best and will visit again definitely when I miss the fjords.

Veldig hyggelig opphold og god kommunikasjon hos verten. Alt man trengte var tilgjengelig, og fikk rask tilbakemelding og svar når det trengtes. Kommer gjerne tilbake :)

I want to start by saying the host was very responsive and arrival was very smooth. I appreciated very much the reactivity to my messages, and they gave good advice on nearby hikes. This is not a critique of the host but just relating my impressions of the lodging - I hadn’t noticed in the photos that the room is a basement room with only a small window without a view. The place was clean and had a sofa that converted into a bed, so you need to convert into a bed and put on all the sheets and covers before sleeping. The kitchen was helpful, no microwave but had two burners, a tea kettle and a coffee maker. It would have been nice to have a few coffee capsules to get me started in the morning. The internet was very weak and often would cut in the room unfortunately. I appreciated that it was cheaper than many other lodgings around Bergen but the drawback was about a 35 minute bus ride back and forth from the city each day. Overall I can’t complain and the hosts were professional but it’s a pretty basic accommodation.

My three day visit was very pleasant. Communication with the host was very fast and convenient. Communication in English was very easy. The bus ride to the city center takes half an hour, but the connection is very good (bus E16 or Light Rail). Transport to the airport is also rather easy.
