Great place to stay. We enjoyed every bit of it. The neighborhood is safe by the way, don't mistake fireworks for shots. There was one bad review that made us hesitant about this place but it turned out to be very misleading. Book it before it's gone.

Very disappointed with this property. The pictures and description are very deceiving and do not describe the flaws and unsafe feeling this property made us feel. I originally booked the property for one month. I was in the property for less then 24 hours. The only reason why we stayed that long was because I was traveling with a minor, it was getting late, I did NOT feel safe walking back to my car, and there wasn’t much hotels near by to check-in that were available. We had no choice but to sleep there and with one eye open. The location of the property: heavy saturated with homeless, drug addicts walking around, run down and unsafe. On google, It shows that Waianae has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes. Please do your research before booking this property. A number of events occurred prior to entering the property. I was greeted by a man yelling “you are lost and to get out of here” he kept pointing to the street and get out of the complex. Immediately after I entered the property, I reached out to Teri to inform her of the incidents that occurred. She was sweet but very honest. She informed me to not leave the property at night as the area is not safe. She mentioned, her herself does not shop in the area or leave the property at night. She also mentioned; that she picks up any groceries or food in the city of Kapolei prior to getting into Waianae. It was helpful to know that, although did not help ease our feeling. Now let’s talk about the condo, very outdated and uncomfortable. The smell of the condo is musty, stale and possible mold. Be sure to close the louver windows at night. Once the sun goes down, bugs enter the condo due to the warm lights through out the condo. Several lizards entered the condo through cracks and a few entered from the top of the door since there is a louver window. Traditionally and even in my house, you must take your shoes off.  The carpet and floors felt disgusting. Within minutes my feet were dirty from walking around the condo. The bed looked cleaned although once you pull the sheets, the best way I can describe it was: old motel sheets that have been slept on for decades. A few stains and the smell of must and stale. Bathroom also has a heavy stale smell; the white carpet has a few dirt stains and the tub is outdated. Basic amenities such as cleaning supplies, rodent traps and watered down liquid hand soap are provided. You open every cabinet with caution not sure what would pop out and surprise you. There is no elevator, the condo is located on the 3rd floor. There is only air conditioning in the bedroom which will NOT cool the apartment, it states It in the handbook. Several fans are provided. Many apartment rules you must abided by. The community is VERY tight-knit, somewhat eerie. A lady who was downstairs, stoped me and asked me “where are you staying or who I am visiting?” Also, around 8pm, I heard something at the front door, I looked into the peephole, there was a man climbing to get onto the roof. I immediately informed Teri, she said it could possibly be the property manager checking on the roof… at 8pm. Wifi was slow and I had a few dropped calls. Teri mentioned I would need to speak to her husband about my experiance. I mentioned I felt unsafe. Her husband was rude and condescending. He said he would sleep on it, as he does not make rational decisions. I am not here to bash or over exaggerate anything. I get nothing out of it. Just a simple review and true description. The view of the ocean is great, although hearing gun shots in the middle of the night and questioning your safety. Definitely not worth it. Proceed with caution.

Teri's place is in a unique location only a few feet away from the beach. The views at sunset are the best! We also enjoyed the sound of the waves breaking at night. The apartment can get really hot due to the big windows facing the sun the second half of the day. We were diligent about closing the blinds but still it was hotter inside than outside. That is the price you have to pay for those views and the gorgeous sunsets. The neighbors are friendly, but keep in mind that this building is a permanent home to most of the tenants. Respect and thoughtfulness goes a long way. Things are nice and quiet during the week. The property next door is rented for parties on the weekends. It usually gets very loud. There were a couple of nights we had trouble going to sleep due to the noise, music and fireworks. Just something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. Overall my family loved the place and would recommend to others.

My wife and I had a wonderful 30 day stay at Teri's Maili Cove condo. You could not ask for a better host or condo on the West side of Oahu. We will return! Mike Evans

Our stay at Teri's place was exactly what we needed! After the restrictions of the pandemic, it was wonderful to have a change of location and weather. The views of the ocean from the condo and the mesmerizing sounds of the waves were relaxing. The condo had everything we needed. Wifi was good for internet as well as accessing video streaming to watch movies in the evenings. We enjoyed playing the games that were provided. Location was, as described, away from main tourist areas. We stayed four nights at a Wikiki hotel before arriving at the condo and we're happy to be away from the crowds. We stayed in mornings and evenings, and explored the island in the afternoons. A car is necessary even though stores and restaurants are nearby. We will definitely keep this on our ' places to return to' list! Thanks Teri and George, for sharing your piece of paradise!
