An absolutely lovely place! Really tastefully done up farmhouse, love the simplicity of the decor. Well stocked with anything you might need kitchen equipment wise. Just all round a great stay, even if you have to chase the sheep off the road when you're driving in! Very clean house with comfy beds, and a nice garden to listen to the birds. Only slightly minor thing, there's no freezer, but the fridge kept our ice solid enough for 2 days!

Love this place. Third time now. So peaceful. Wonderful outlook over a wood and babbling beck, roaring right now with all the rain. Helped with the lambs again - hilarious that 4 humans less effective than one sheep dog! We will be back soon.

Couldn’t recommend this gem of a place more. From the beautiful grounds to the stunning cottage, it was the perfect place to escape from the city. I will definitely be back!

Set in the hills of the centre of the dark skies area of Northumberland this is the one if the most relaxing stays we have ever experienced. If you want somewhere simple, well appointed and a place to relax this is the Airbnb for you. Converted cowshed this maybe but it is designed with an infinite amount of thought to give something effortlessly simple and well appointed at the same time. There’s not a bit if plastic in sight which is a great de-stresser in itself, the craftsmanship is a lesson in understatement that Grand Designs could learn a lot from and the wet room is an exhibition of design meets rustic form and function. As for location standing on the terrace listening to the river below watching the stars is a privilege that money can’t buy. So we think John is not just a host but the Willy Wonka of cottage retreats . . .

The cottage is so lovely - perfect for a weekend away with friends or a couple with kids. We had such a lovely time - John was really helpful with check in, flexible with check out, there was great kitchen basics there already and even helpful OS map we used for a walk. It’s peaceful and set in lovely surroundings(but not too difficult to find!). A lovely stay - would highly recommend!
