Welcome to the Winery & archaic Trsek house. It is a Rest house in the heart of Slovenian Istria in a very quiet environment. The house is 19 kilometers away from the sea. There are a great view on sideways. Slovenian Istria is a home of vineyards, red wine and prosciutto. It is perfect place for cycling and nature exploration. House has a air-condition, a Wi-Fi, home-made red wine, open grill garden and a beautiful view. You can use the house (interior) and the atrium outdoors (exterior).
Die Unterkunft war im unteren Stock sehr dunkel kalt und roch nach Keller.. Es lag Asche am Tisch als wir ankamen..es ist alt gehalten.. Die Lage war für Ruhe sehr gut.. Aber immer diesen Berg hoch und runter fahren würde ich nicht noch mal auf mich nehmen wenn man die Sehenswürdigkeiten sehen möchte.. ANSONSTEN war alles ah zu erreichen.. Die Gastgeberin warsehr freundlich und immer erreichbar.. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse war unglaublich schön. Ich war wir bekamen Wein zur Begrüßung.. Und viele Tipps und Empfehlungen
The house is cozy and well equipped. The terrace is fantastic! The house is close to the highway so it is easy to visit both the mountains and the sea. Ana is very helpful and makes great recommendations for local food, drinks, activities. We hope to revisit soon!

Sehr ruhiges, traditionelles Haus in schöner Lage. Das Atrium, welches über die Strasse zu erreichen ist, hat eine tolle Aussicht und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Die Einrichtung ist noch aus vergangener Zeit, soweit aber zweckmäßig.

Our neighbor grows original Slovenian truffles which are filled in Slovenia. He prepare a great dinner with a view and tasting of truffle dishes with pleasure. His name is Dejan and his product is “Di Kappa Trufles.”

HERBAL PARADISE
The third neighbor have a herbal paradise of Slovenia. They are currently processing 3 hectares of land on which we have planted various herbs. Helichrysum Italicum, Lavender, Calendula Officinalis, Yarrow, Centaury, Hemp, Mint, some vine plants and 200 olive trees.

RODICA WINERY
In the neighboring village Truške; there is a beautiful Organic Winary Rodica, where you can see their cellar and vineyards and taste their wines. Vineyards stretch along the southern slopes of the Istrian hills at an altitude of 250 to 350m. Position and climate are ideal for the growth and development of the vine. At 15 hectares treated 60,000 vines planted mainly with native varieties, Refosco, Malvasia and Yellow Muscat and others, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Syrah and Gray. This is a really beautiful place.

MAZURIN MILL & DRAGONJA RIVER
You can visit river Dragonja and Mazurin's mill on the river Dragonja. Today, this is the only preserved mill on the Dragonja River, and it is at least 300 years old.
THE SLAVNIK HILL
The Slavnik hill (1028m) is the most popular hiking destination of the Coastal-Karst region. The view from Slavnik is among the most impressive ones. If we have luck with the weather, we can admire the Adriatic Sea, the Italian Dolomites, part of the Carnian and Julian Alps, where Triglav stands out, and then our view moves across the Karavanke to the Kamnik and Savinja Alps. In the vicinity you can see Golaki, Vremščica, and also Snežnik.
SOKOLIČI
Sokoliči is a tiny village, most recognizable for its waterfall Veli vir which is about 8m high. If you would like to visit, keep in mind that it tends to dry up during summer. It is better to choose early spring or late fall.

The first wine fountain in Slovenia (is in Marezige city, 6 km away of Trsek) offers a unique and unforgettable experience for wine lovers and gourmands. ČRNI KAL
Nucleated village with a medieval structure and several buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries, formed at the former Venetian-Austrian border, is registered as settlement heritage in the Register of immovable cultural heritage of the Republic of Slovenia.

THE ŠKOCJAN CAVES
The Škocjan Caves remain the only monument in Slovenia and the Classical Karst region on UNESCO’s list of natural and cultural world heritage sites. Thus, they hold a significant position among the world’s natural monuments.
SOCERB CASTLE
The Strmec (Socerb) Castle is the only larger fort building at the Karst edge above the Slovenian coast, and charms every single visitor. The area of the Socerb Castle is registered as a monument of national importance.
HRASTOVLJE
Under the walls of the karst edge of Slovenian Istria, in the village of Hrastovlje, stands a small stone church of Sv. Three. The church has an interesting and special exterior, and inside it hides the most extensive preserved medieval paintings, the main attraction is the "Dance of the Dead."
KOŠTABONA
Koštabona is a pleasant Istrian village that rises on a natural pier above the river Dragonja. It will enchant you with its typical Istrian architecture, and its charm is given by the blooming red in the spring and the fiery red in autumn. Discover remnants of the past from prehistory, the Roman era and the Middle Ages. From Koštabona you can go for a walk along the well-kept footpaths or visit the surrounding villages by bike.
ČRNI KAL
The compactly built village with a medieval design and a few buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries, designed on the former Venetian-Austrian border, is included in the Register of Immovable Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Slovenia as a settlement heritage.
The history of Črni Kal is rich: in the nearby quarry, remains from the Paleolithic and Roman periods have been found, and at the rocky edge are the remains of the castle or fortress of San Sergio from the 11th century, accessible via a metal bridge.
HOUSE OF BARDINAC
In the village of Lopar stands the "House of Bardinac" from 1861, which today serves as an exhibition space for museum collections. This is a typical Istrian homestead with a stone courtyard, a pergola, an external staircase and external outbuildings. The house has a "black" kitchen and a wine cellar with a press. According to an open threshing floor from 1803, the house is believed to be older.

I am Ana Zagožen and I am renting a house in Slovenian Istria, which is the heritage of my ancestors. I am a sociologist and I work in the field of local politics and tourism. In this small village of Trsek, my brother and I cultivate a vineyard that our grandparents left us. We produce red wine; Refošk and Cabernet Souvignon.
