Great stay at the Sugar Bird Beach House, with super easy access from the water taxi across the street. Do yourself a favor and rent a car on the Nevis side as the car ferry is unreliable. This home provides easy access to anywhere on the island and is an easy walk for morning coffee at the Oualie Beach Resort. They also have live music on some nights which was a blast.

Main point for those who won't read all of this review - stay at the Songbird House on Nevis! The team of Wayne, Helene, and Pulmattie is very responsive and make it a priority to make your trip as easy and wonderful as they can. They arranged all of our connections from the St Kitts airport to Nevis and again so on our return 9 days later. We literally walked out of the St Kitts airport and met a taxi who was waiting for us. The taxi took us to the ferry (literally parking beside it on the dock). We jumped on the ferry and almost immediatetly departed for Nevis. Pulmattie was on the ferry (coincidence?), and helped answer our immediate questions. Helene then met us at the dock on Nevis, and made sure our car rental went smoothly and then checked us into the Songbird House. The Songbird House is your own private Caribbean villa. The shared living room and kitchen area is spacious with five ceiling fans to keep you cool in the tropics. There's also A/C if you wish but we enjoyed the warm tropical breezes that are always present. The bathroom is easy to use and the shower is great for two. The bedroom is comfortable for retiring at night after all the day's fun. But really the best part of the Songbird House is what is outside. The house has decks on three sides so you can always chase sun or shade depending on what you want. The private pool is just that: private. We always felt secluded either lounging beside it or cooling off in it. Jumping in the pool after a day's activity in the hot sun was always a treat. The grounds around the house also are amazing with many tropical plants, flowers, and frequent visits by a troop of monkeys that passed through almost daily! The views of the Caribbean Sea and St Kitts from the house also are a delight. Go find the lover's bench in the southern corner of the property; it has amazing views! The Songbird House is right across the street from Oualie Beach, so you can walk to your own beach. It was very easy to partake in the activities, music, and dining at the Oaulie Beach resort. We even got on "recognizable" relations with some of the people staying at the resort and the staff. The Songbird House also is great starting point for exploring all the other landmarks, towns, and restaurants on the entire island of Nevis. It has its own private street-side parking spot that no one was ever parked in. Laslty, I want to add that Wayne, Helene, and Pulmattie were amazing for the entire trip. They checked in from time to time to make sure the trip was going smoothly, and we frequently reached out to them for suggestions. They always had great input which made our decisions so much easier and stress-free.
