Auvillar is classified as one of the prettiest villages in France (d'un plus beau village de France) and has a rare circular corn exchange and clock tower at its centre. As a bastide village, its elevated position enables stunning views over the Garonne valley.
The area is peaceful and beautiful, situated on the edge of Gascony and Lomagne. Tarn et Garonne is a relatively unknown county in Midi Pyrenees and has a wealth of beautiful stone villages, stunning views and lovely churches as well as sites of special interest to explore. For those that want to do more than just relax by the lovely pool, there is plenty for the children to do if required. Go-karting, theme parks, tree climbing, canoeing and much more. Through the summer the area hosts a number of events including medieval carnivals, firework displays, concerts and night markets, Out of high season the atmosphere is more tranquil.
However, with 2000 hours of sunshine annually it is an ideal place to spend time visiting the sites or even walking a section of the famous St Jacques de Compostelle (pilgrims walking route) at any time of year.

A car is recommended here, there is so much to see and do, it would be a shame to miss out. We are just 55 minutes up the A62 motorway from Toulouse Blagnac airport, and 2 hours from Bordeaux Airport. Bergerac is 1.5 hours as is Carcassonne.
Once you are here, we have bikes available to hire and there are walking routes all around the property. There is no bus service here, taxis are available but expensive. There are local trains from Valence d'Agen, Moissac and Agen with links to Toulouse, Bordeaux and beyond.
