Very easy to find, beautiful place by the river
Fantastic place to stay while exploring the redwoods. Romana keeps a beautiful home that is so comfortable to come back to at the end of a day of hiking through the woods!
Super well stocked for anything we could think to need, which was really useful due to the remote location. Wifi worked well and Romana was really friendly and responsive throughout our stay.
Romana’s place worked out well for us! It was clean and had a very well-stocked kitchen. The location was fine for us. It’s about 10 minutes off of Highway 101 between Crescent city and Prairie Creek. The location is beautiful. The reason for the four in Location is that there are no grocery stores close by and restaurants in the area closed very early, even on Saturday. If you plan to eat in all the time and did your grocery shopping before you arrived and that won’t be a problem. We had planned to eat out a couple of nights and found it difficult to find a place to eat in the immediate area. Of course, that’s not a reflection on the house. the house was great. It’s just a little bit of a challenge food wise. Romana was very responsive and gave us a few recommendations that actually added to our adventure.
A very nice place to stay in an amazing location. Only complaint is that wifi was not working super well during our stay, however that is not a very big deal when you are basically in redwood national park.

I’m a proud Super Host. I am lucky to live on the impossibly scenic Lost Coast of far Northern California. It’s a World Heritage Site, and internationally recognized for biodiversity. River House is located on the Yurok reservation, in Redwood National and State Park. I’m from Santa Clara, at the heart of Silicon Valley. I've worked for big name Silicon Valley companies and tiny startups. I specialized in developing and testing apps. These days I like nature photography, our fabulous scenery, outdoor exercise, and slow and local food from Humboldt and Del Norte counties. I am a big fan of classic movies, science fiction, and anime. I understand and study French, Spanish, and Portuguese. I'm descended from the first settlers of Ilha Terceira, Ilhas Açores, Portugal. For travel, I love warm, cosmopolitan Lisbon, and further exploring my European heritage. In the future I'd like to see Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and every UNESCO world heritage site.
