We really enjoyed staying at João's place. It isn't fancy, but it's clean, well equipped, and in a very nice area in the hills. João treated us extremely well and was warm and welcoming. He responded quickly to us any time we needed him. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at João’s place for 5 days during winter as a family. We recommend it! Check in instructions were clear & the area is peaceful and relaxed. You get to be away from the city while still able to get to Lisbon in about 40mins by car. Beach is just 8mins away and you can reach the top of the nearby mountains for a wonderful view in about 20mins. You also get a sky full of stars at night & a fruitful lemon tree in the yard. The place itself is quite basic but has the necessary kitchen things for cooking. Shower had hot water and overall we didn’t feel like much is missing for a few nights stay. We enjoyed our time in the terrace and also did some BBQ. It was about 7 degrees at night but we still enjoyed it. The place was clean which is appreciated. With one gas heater and an electric one, we heated up the place but at night & early morning, it still felt a bit cold. Moisture was a problem but I guess that’s in a lot of old places across Portugal. Overall, an enjoyable stay!

מאוד נהנו לשהות בבית אצל ג׳או דיוגו. הבית נמצא במושב קטן בלב שמורת הטבע עוצר נשימה. אם אתם חובבי טבע - זה המקום המושלם בשבילכם. ג׳או מארח מאוד חברותי ואדיב. ההמלצות שלו שימשו אותנו לא פעם כדי למצוא חנות באיזור, מקומות לטייל ועזרה בטיפול הבית. מאוד אהבנו לעשות על אש במרפסת למעלה ויש שם מספיק מקום לארח חברים בערב אל מול הנוף המרהיב. דבר אחד לשים לב - כדאי להגיע עם רכב, כי למעט בית קפה בשתי דקות הליכה אין חנויות במושב. לנו זה לא הפריע בכלל, כי היינו ניידים והכרנו את האיזור.

The place was much bigger than expected with lots of space for kids and dog. It had a nice lemon tree out front and was surrounded by forest. We drove into Setubal climbing centre, to local beaches and further beaches that were more wild and also went into Lisbon to go to the science museum and aquarium.
