博德加湾(Bodega Bay) · 整套民居 · 3室4床3.5卫 · 可住8人 · Driftwood—New Modern Coastal Contemporary
This new home with spectacular views of Bodega Head and the Bay is across the street from Bodega Harbour's many wonderful amenities - a Robert Trent Jones jr. golf course, restaurant and bar, basketball courts, jungle gym, bocce court, and oh yeah, the access trail to the Beach! Three bedrooms with en suite full bathrooms and walk-in closets accommodate your group in comfort in this spacious 2500 + sq ft home. Enter the house into the Great Room, with the kitchen, big island, a large redwood table, gas fireplace, and street-level views. A loft above leaves the area over the table open all the way up to the ceiling fan! The loft features a projection TV and stereo system, tripod-mounted binoculars for watching the boats, surfers, and stars, as well as ample comfy seating in conversation pits or reading spots or whatever! Gather upstairs at sundown where if it isn't foggy or overcast, you will be treated to a beautiful sunset. Each bedroom has a queen bed, its own full bath, with a half-bath by the Great Room. Four outdoor decks connect you to the outdoors each in a different way. The deck in the back of the house features a hot tub, and is adjacent to a greenbelt for a feeling of open space. A double-size futon in the loft can accommodate two sleepers when folded down. The architecture is distinctive Coastal Contemporary, with artistic whimsical touches throughout. The passive solar, zero net energy design incorporates state-of-the-art building science. It produces as much electricity as it uses, and is very resource efficient both in its construction and in operation. The well-equipped kitchen features a Thermador gas cooktop, and lots of counter space. The utility room can serve as a backup kitchen if you are doing a big production. The two-car garage has a car charger, which you can use for free. The driveway has room for up to four more cars.
Stayed at Doug’s for my birthday. I was shocked when we walked in. It was so much nicer than the photos. The view was so nice. We liked having the hot tub, projector, binoculars, and all the other awesome amenities. It is so close to everything! I would stay again anytime.
A real gem in Bodega Bay. Location is great with the beach only a short walk away, nice views of the bay from the upstairs balcony, and the kitchen was better stocked than the one I have at home. We’ll be back!
We had a wonderful stay at Driftwood. I highly recommend this home if you are looking for a calm, beautiful escape. One of the best parts about this home is Doug who is an incredibly responsive, informative and kind host. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful home in beautiful setting. The home has the rare combination of being nicely furnished and designed, while still being kid friendly. Doug was kind and responsive when needed.
Bodega Harbour consists of vacation rentals, vacation homes (second homes), and permanent residences. Residents and guests are drawn to the natural beauty of this bit of California's spectacular coastline.
Recreational opportunities abound, as well as fabulous dining experiences. Restaurants are offering take-out service, including the Bluewater Bistro, which is just across the street! They will even deliver to the door if you're too tired or lazy to walk there! Their takeout menu should be in the binder in the house.
A couple of our other favorites include Fishetarian, part of Lucas' Wharf, which not only offers take-out, but also has a fish counter where you can get fish brought in that morning, and take it home to cook yourself. The Tides restaurant also has an excellent fish counter and let's call it a gourmet deli!
Hiking opportunities right out the front door include the closest beach access through the parking lot across the street, or to the right down the street the length of the 18th hole, and there is a gap in the houses, with a trail that takes you through the marsh to a different part of the beach. To the left, walk up Heron Dr. to Mockingbird, and two houses down is the trailhead for the Pinnacle Gulch trail, a delightful well-maintained trail that leads to a secluded part of the beach (maybe a mile-ish). There is a small parking lot and restrooms at the trailhead. Just a little further up Heron, just past the high point, is another, less well-maintained trail called the Ridge Trail. If you just feel like walking around the neighborhood, Heron Drive forms a loop of approximately two miles, which is a lovely walk.
If you don't mind getting back in the car, there is a substantial parking lot with restrooms on the ocean side of Bodega Head, with trails in every direction and fabulous views.
