This cabin is a perfect place to relax and be in touch with nature. I look forward to this trip every year!

First the good, the cabin was as pictured and the area was peaceful. The access to the lake was a little bit of a walk and wasn't visible from the cabin. Check in was straight forward. Now the bad, unlocked the front door and was met with the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke and cleaning products. We tried airing out the cabin for over an hour and the smell was still extremely prominent. Decided we could not sleep there as the smell was giving us a headache. Locked the place up and headed to Alpena to check into a hotel. Contacted Brian and he said he wasn't made aware of the smell by his cleaning lady. We had booked the place for 3 nights, didn't get any sort of refund although Brian offered us another airbnb location in Alpena after we had already checked into a hotel which we declined. Very disappointed after driving 5-1/2 hours to "get away" especially since his house rules say no smoking. Cigarette smoke smell is very different from wood stove smell.

Second time out to the property. Great, quaint place on a nice piece of property surrounded by State land. No cell service was great to disconnect and a very quiet area - I heard two planes over 5 days and only heard evidence of humans when cars drove by on the road.
