Studio très sympa au centre de la ville. Propre et fonctionnel. La piscine est un plus après une journée de balade. Un seul bémol : c'est très bruyant.

I hate to write negative reviews but our trip was ruined by Meava’s (our supposed “host”). August 2022. 9 Rue des Gouverneurs, ST MARTIN DE RE, 17410, France This booking has been an absolute nightmare causing us much stress and additional costs as well as severe disruption to our plans. Check-in & customer service: We called ahead the day before check-in to see if we could leave our luggage at the Pierre and Vacannes (P&V). P&V confirmed this was possible. On the day of check-in we tried to contact Meava using the number supplied on the booking confirmation. The number supplied was out of order which we assumed was temporary problem (the number supplied is still not working as I write on 13th). We had no choice but to drive down to P&V to drop luggage as agreed. Upon arrival we met with Marie the receptionist- when we showed her the check-in-details she only took note of the AirBNB logo and told us that we would need to contact the host as this was an Airbnb booking and offered us no further help. We then had to return to La Flotte to tell our 4 additional guests from the first week that we could no longer take them to the airport as planned as P&V would not let us store our luggage without the host being contacted. As it was Saturday there was no access to taxis so after hanging around in La Flotte for two hours we had to load the guests plus luggage on to the airport bus. We had planned to drive the guests to the airport as two of the party (my in-laws) are Senior Citizens and have limited mobility. They just about made their airplane only because they were given special assistance to make the boarding gate due to late arrival on the bus. All this time we were trying to contact Meava by phone (none of the number provided including emergency ones worked), messages via Airbnb app were not being responded too and I even tried to email Meava, nothing was received in response to our increasingly desperate messages. We had to pay €45 parking on La Flotte as we didn’t know what to do next so we needed a base on an extraordinarily hot day. After a few hours of trying to contact Meava from La Flotte we decided to return to P&V hoping to get some help from them. Again the receptionist Marie reiterated that this was an AirBNB reservation and we should contact the host. Again we explained that this was not possible and she offered no further help despite seeing we were quite distressed at this point. I asked her to try the number I was given for the host which she did after some prompting, she also confirmed the number was out of service. We went back to the car and at had to contact Airbnb support who after many attempts and what we assume to be very expensive overseas calls (we will confirm amount for reimbursement when we contact our mobile network when returning to the UK) they confirmed that also could not contact the Host, Meava. By this time 4.45pm we were desperate so I return to P&V to see if we could secure another room which we would pay for ourselves. She’s asked why and again I explained that because our host had not been in touch and we therefore had nowhere to stay. She explained that they had no rooms available. Just before I left I asked in desperation if she knew someone from Meava I could contact. At this point she went “ah, Meava is your host” and proceeded to produce the keys! I was somewhat exasperated at this news explaining that I had shown her the booking details at 8.30 that morning that showed that Meava was our host. She offered no apologies. She then gave us our keys and a single map of the facilities with access codes. I asked her if there was any more information we should have, a welcome pack of some sort with local rules, instructions etc - the sort of thing you would expect from an AirBnB host, but nothing was provided. While I was dealing with reception AirBNB had come through with an offer of compensation I think around €700 Euros plus a full refund. Much as I wanted to take up their offer and have nothing more to do with Meava or P&V we had to decline as we were travelling with our 13 year old autistic son. One of the most prominent traits of the autistic person is that they need plenty of notice and preparation for new environments and that any last minute changes lead to sensory overload and acute distress. As he’d effectively spent the day in a car and was already distressed we had no choice but to stay at the property as an further changes or delays would have led to a full-on autistic meltdown. This was a very painful and distressing experience impacting not just the three of us staying at P&V but our 4 other guests. It is shameful that Meava did not communicate the check-in process clearly or at the basic minimum provide us with a working contact number or repond to our many messages. * Despite showing a 1hr response time on the Airbnb messaging app you didn’t respond until 8th of August at 11.29am - our first contact - our first message was posted at 9.01am on 6th August. Guess what? The number provided on this message didn’t work as well. Meava singularity failed to act as a host, provide any help or assistance and your lack of contactability as confirmed by AirBnb and P&V is a absolute disgrace. P&V weren’t any help and offered no meaningful apology* - although they did offer us free Wi-Fi- this of course didn’t work. I must admit I gave up on Marie assuming she was junior member of

Studio bien équipé, juste à côté de la piscine, et calme malgré tout. Communication un peu minimale avant le séjour mais tout s'est bien passé. Confortable pour trois personnes et surtout très bien placé tout près du centre de Saint Martin.
