This spacious, detached lodge nestles in a stunning location and boasts a large garden with countryside views down the valley beyond.. Once a busy building within the grounds of a former garden nursery, The Potting Shed has been lovingly transformed into a wonderful detached lodge in such a great location, surrounded by countryside and yet only 5 minutes’ drive from the market town of Carmarthen. The Potting Shed has been finished to a very good standard and has been thoughtfully presented throughout. It has a spacious, light and airy feel and solid wood flooring throughout. Open plan to the living and dining area, the galley-style kitchen offers a great space to cook that special meal. The bedroom offers a kingsize bed and en-suite facilities with a large double walk-in shower. French doors lead from the living area to your very own private decked area, with commanding countryside views across the large lawned garden and down the valley beyond. Enjoy a fresh coffee in the morning whilst sitting on the decking followed by a good walk with your four-legged friend. The beautiful seaside village of Llansteffan is 15 minutes away, where the famous salmon river, the River Towy, joins Carmarthen Bay. Here you can also visit the ruined castle which dates back to the early 12th century, along with the Iron Age earthworks still visible to this day and which once controlled an important river crossing of the Towy. Enjoy a walk to discover the castle and its epic views overlooking the sand flats and the River Towy mouth. Carmarthen has everything on offer such as many restaurants specialising in home cooked organic produce, craft shops, galleries, cinema and traditional markets. Nearby is the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, which is home to the largest span glass house in Europe and some truly wonderful displays of flowers and landscapes. Aberglasney, a few minutes away, is said to be one of the finest gardens in Wales. The gardens surround a restored Grade II listed mansion which is the perfect place for enjoying cream teas whilst admiring the scenery. Travelling west and not to be missed is the historic township of Laugharne, which is the hometown of the famous poet, Dylan Thomas. You can view his writing shed, his former home and enjoy some fine locally brewed ales in his favourite pub, the Browns Hotel. Beach 8 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
