We are excited to share our precious family bach with you. Though not a 5 star hotel, it's warm, functional, cosy and has everything you need, whilst remaining an iconic kiwi bach. It is in a superb location - right on the lake front, with only reserve between the bach and the lake. Perfect for two smaller families to meet up and enjoy all that the area has to offer, summer or winter! If Kramphouse brings you half the joy it brings us, you will have a very memorable time! Kramphouse is an independent part of a duplex, built in 1963, (we are on the right hand side as you drive in), with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living area upstairs and the same spaces available downstairs. We comfortably sleep 8. (We recommend you contact us about booking both sides - 2 x duplexes, for a truly magic experience for four families!) We trust you to use our trampoline, kayaks, life jackets, aluminium dingy, bbq, with respect and care. Beds are all left with a clean mattress protector, duvet, blanket and 2 pillows - but we ask you to bring your own sheets, pillow cases and towels. As well as the two bathrooms, there is a great outdoor hot shower. The sandy beach in front of the bach is safe for swimming and throwing pumice- an ideal family spot with a little playground a 10 minute amble along the reserve. There is space behind the garden shed to park your bikes and you can sit and watch out the lounge window for a quiet time at the boat ramp to launch your boat. There are numerous beautiful walking, running and cycling tracks lakeside and along the Kuratau river. We are a 20 minute drive to Turangi, the biggest township nearby and an hour away from Taupo. Tokaanu thermal area with the reknowned hotpools is 10 minutes away a welcome stop after a day at Whakapapa ski field- 50 minutes drive from the bach.
