Brading · 整套民居 · 5室7床3.0卫 · 可住10人 · Hardingshute Farm, Nunwell Estate, AONB
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Hardingshute Farm will offer you a chance to unwind and enjoy the countryside. This exquisite, recently refurbished farmhouse has been in the Oglander family for over 500 years and makes up part of the Nunwell Estate. Enjoy waking up to stunning views, visiting the adjacent duck pond and trying out some of the surrounding public footpaths. Run wild and free in our idyllic, extensive garden as only the birds will hear you! Entering the farmhouse you will discover original stone floors which possibly date back 1,000 years to a former dwelling on this site. You have three reception rooms to choose between: you may wish to play the piano or relax in the elegant morning room, cosy up next to the fireplace in the snug or gather in the evening with a glass of wine in the spacious entrance hall. The bespoke handcrafted kitchen has been made out of Ryde Pier and enjoys views out over the fields as well as the stunning courtyard dining area with original well - great for BBQs. The dining room seats 10. There is a downstairs toilet/shower room. Upstairs you will find 5 large bedrooms. Bedroom 1: The master bedroom has an antique four poster bed which has been extended to make it superking size. Bedroom 2: This bedroom has a bespoke bed which can either be two extra long singles or a superking with thick memory foam topper (guests often comment on how comfortable it is!) Bedroom 3: The kingsize bedroom has the attraction of having beams and a pretty fireplace (non working). Bedroom 4: Two french antique single beds. Bedroom 5: Two single beds. All bathrooms have been put in in 2017: 2 wet rooms with powerful showers, 1 Villeroy and Boch bathtub and 1 shower downstairs. The garden is approximately 1 acre with fruit trees, large football goal, basket ball hoop and treehouse climbing frame set consisting of swings, slide, children's picnic bench and climbing wall. There are a number of different seating areas in the garden so you can enjoy sun or shade throughout the day.
Wow, wow, wow - the most beautiful farmhouse, full of charming character and secluded with beautiful surroundings. We hired the house for Christmas and it exceeded all of our expectations. Miriam had decorated it beautifully so it felt very festive and although it was a farmhouse it was always very warm and snug at all times, even without lighting the fires. The photos on the site definitely do not do the property justice - we just wish we didn’t have to leave. There are 3 lounging areas so lots of rooms to lose each other if you need space or somewhere for quiet reading while the others watch TV in the front room. Amazing dining room with large table but we all loved sitting round the kitchen island. Couldn’t fault this house in any way. You need a car to go anywhere but lots of grounds to walk around for some fresh air. We wanted a peaceful family Christmas and it turned out to be the best one we have ever had- thank you Rob and Miriam x
Really helpful host, beautiful house and lovely touches around to make us feel at home. Excellent amenities. Highly recommend.
An amazing farmhouse with tons of character and history! A large space with great beds, bathrooms, and lots of living areas. We loved the garden with the apple trees, and waking up to lovely sunrises. Feels like you're isolated but just a short drive from some lovely beaches and villages. Miriam and Rob were wonderful hosts, very responsive. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return!
This property is excellent for a large family group and the hosts present it very well indeed. With plenty of living accommodation and 5 bedrooms you cannot go wrong. The garden is more than large enough to the most energetic of children the space to wear themselves out. Rob & Miriam answered all of our pre-holiday questions both promptly and most informatively. Great value!
Although you may feel completely in your own world out here, 24 hour Tesco is just a 5 minute drive away for your convenience. The seafront is less than 10 minutes away. We love starting the coastal walk here connecting Appley Beach to Seaview, Seagrove Bay and ending up in Priory Bay. Our other favourite pastimes are crabbing in Bembridge, cycling on The Red Squirrel Trail or horse riding on the beach. Kids may love to go to Robin Hill Country Park which is also nearby (The Garlic Farm is a great breakfast stop on the way!) The drive to this will wow you! If you feel like staying closer to home and exploring the local village, head to Brading. It is an ancient 'Kynges Towne' with a medieval church and 'Rectory Mansion' which is thought to be the oldest dwelling on the Isle of Wight, dating back to 1228. In the peaceful Tudor Courtyard here you can enjoy lunch or head upstairs to treat yourself to very well priced beauty treatments. Pubs and convenience stores in the village too.

We loved our holiday home, Hardingshute Farm, so much that we decided to make it our family home in 2017. Our boys love the space and freedom that island living brings; without neighbours the children are free to run and play as loudly as they like! I always enjoy waking up to the sun rising over the fields and feel lucky to live in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. I’ve realised that most of our best times don’t cost a penny: playing on the beach, looking out to sea, walking the coastline, catching crabs, making stick dens in the forest, cycling the Red Squirrel Trail, picking blackberries. I have loved trying out new activities here such as paddle boarding, horse riding and kayaking, and hope we can all learn to sail. We hope that you can enjoy these things too and have the most wonderful stay in our home on this beautiful island.
