Lodge cottage is a beautiful colonial style thatched holiday home, with a large garden and shared access to a heated outdoor swimming pool, near the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The pool is open (morning and evening) from the end of May to the end of September. The cottage has a spacious and light first floor sitting room / dining room with French windows opening onto the south west facing balcony. The three bedrooms are on the floor below. The pool is shared with our family. Guests have exclusive use in the morning 8.00am to 10.00am and then again from 4.00pm to 6.00pm. The pool is heated and has a solid cover which can be rolled back, or, if the weather isn't very good, you can leave it in place and swim underneath it.

We chose Hatcheson Lodge Cottage as a place for a family get together and it was ideal . It is spacious and plenty of areas to sit inside and outside in the large garden space and chat. There are lots of places nearby to go for a day visit , Sutton Hoo , Aldeburgh, and Framlingham. The lovely town of Market Wickham is nearby for shopping and we would highly recommend the local butchers E W Revett and Sons who provided us with some delicious meals. There are some lovely walks from the cottage in the surrounding countryside.
Great property, as another reviewer has said, the photos don't do it justice. The outdoor space is amazing and really well kept, and the pool is a real bonus. Inside the property it's comfortable, tidy, and very clean. Great for dogs and kids too. The property is really well located, less than 30 mins to Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and Walberswick - all worth a visit. Georgia was a really responsive host, and the welcome pack sent in advance was really useful.
Beautiful home in a beautiful location. Such a peaceful area. The gardens and the local walks were lovely. Lots of nature to see. We were grateful to be able to spend some time relaxing in the garden in-between a busy few days involving a family wedding at Bruisyard (which is only a 15 min drive away, so a perfect location for us). Sadly our dad wasn't well enough to make it, but as a huge lover of nature and beautiful places he would have really enjoyed it as well The house was very well presented with everything you could need and was really homely and welcoming, with some lovely treats left for us which were much appreciated ! We met the doggo's a couple of times and they were so lovely and friendly All in all a wonderful stay Thank you and I can really highly recommend this place 😊

Located just 2 minutes drive from the wonderful Marlesford Farm Cafe which offers breakfast and lunch (http://www.farmcafe.co.uk/) and 5 minutes drive from Wickham Market with the usual village amenities - small supermarket, vets, doctors, dentists, chemist, independent retailers etc.
Lodge cottage is very close to places of interest nearby. Framlingham, Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo, Snape Maltings, Orford, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Walberswick, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich are all a short drive away. There is a railway station in the next village of Campsea Ashe, with trains to Woodbridge and Ipswich. There are regular trains from Ipswich to London which means that day trips to the Capital are possible. Coastal and heathland walks, castles and cycling through the picturesque Suffolk villages and country lanes are just part of the pleasure, as are visiting friendly local pubs and restaurants. Come to Coastal Suffolk to get away from the crowds.
