Together with my family, we're the current custodians of The White Hart in Padstow. Around 500 years old, it is one of the oldest buildings in the town. Over the the centuries The White Hart has seen many uses: Coaching inn, dairy, brewery and reputedly even a house of ill repute. At one point, its Malt House was supplying dozens of local farmers with beer for their workers. Now The White Hart has returned to a private residence in its prime position in the town and the adjoining Malt House is a self contained holiday home that sleeps four. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Malt House was split into two separate holiday lets. We have now combined the accommodation into one enlarged cottage to permit our guests exclusive use of The Malt House. With its exposed beams you can still detect the malty odour of the wort and mash lingering in The Malt House! I've been a visitor for more decades than I care to admit, and now, we're delighted to welcome guests to experience the Cornwall our family has come to love. We look forward to seeing you soon.
