Το χωριό μας βρίσκεται μέσα στη φύση και προσφέρεται για περπάτημα και για βόλτες μέσα στο φαράγγι της Σπηλιώτισσας, στην είσοδο του χωριού αλλά και στη Βίγλα(μονοπάτι που οδηγεί στην κορφή του χωριού με απίστευτη θέα στη θάλασσα του Ηρακλείου) , τον Αγ. Παντελεήμονα, στην εξοδο του χωριού κ.α. Ανήκει στο Δήμο Αρχανών –Αστερουσιων και όπως όλα τα χωριά της περιοχής, έχει πλούσια ιστορία από τον Μινωικό πολιτισμό που αναπτύχθηκε ιδιαίτερα στην περιοχή αυτή. Στο χωριό μας βρέθηκαν πήλινοι αγωγοί που μετέφεραν νερό στη Κνωσσό από τη πηγή που κατόπιν ονομάστηκε Χατζινές και διατηρήθηκε μέχρι τα νεότερα χρόνια. Επίσης θαλαμοειδής τάφος του 13ου αι. π.Χ κ.α. ευρήματα. Σημαντικές αρχαιολογικές τοποθεσίες βρίσκονται στη περιοχή που μπορείτε να επισκεφτείτε όπως το ιερό κορυφής του βουνού Γιούχτας που βρίσκεται πολύ κοντά στο χωριό Αρχάνες, το Βαθύπετρο, επίσης μινωικός οικισμός ακριβώς δίπλα σπο το χωριό και φυσικά τον αρχαιολογικό χώρο του 1ου ευρωπαικού πολιτισμού, του μινωικού, τη Κνωσσό με το ανάκτορο του Μίνωα που βρίσκεται σε απόσταση 20 περίπου χιλιομέτρων. Καθώς το Χουδέτσι βρίσκεται περίπου στο κέντρο της ενδοχώρας του νομού Ηρακλείου μπορείτε να επισκεφτείτε τις κοντινές παραλίες του Ηρακλείου όπως την Αμμουδάρα,(22χλμ) την Αγ. Πελαγία(38χλμ), τη Λυγαριά (38χλμ)στα δυτικά καθώς και τις παραλίες του Καρτερού, Κοκκίνη Χάνι(30χλμ) στα ανατολικά. Ιδιαίτερη ομορφιά όμως έχουν οι παραλίες στα νότια του νομού Ηρακλείου όπως ο Τσούτσουρας(40χλμ), οι Τρείς Εκκλησιές(45χλμ)ς, ο Λέντας (50χλμ)κ.α.
