Come escape to our waterfront, off-grid, solar-powered cabin situated on one of Pennsylvania’s renowned trout streams. Enjoy the peaceful views, opportunities to fish, kayak, or tube down Penns Creek at this private cabin. Relax with a cup of coffee on our spacious porch with a scenic view of the water, make some s’mores over the fire, or take a relaxing nap on our Creekside lounge chairs. Dogs are welcome! While this cabin is off-grid and has no plumbing/running water—the cabin is powered by solar panels with a backup gas generator for cloudy days and evenings, which will run outlets and lights within the space. We ask that you are comfortable in your stay but also be mindful of your power usage. There is a separate, clean outhouse for your convenience. We have an outdoor, shower that is available-- weather dependent. The cabin has a comfortable full-size bed with nice, warm bedding, indoor and outdoor furniture for both sunny and rainy days, a small kitchen space which includes an portable gas stove, a wood-fired cook stove that can be used for both heating and cooking, and a sink with a water dispenser for washing and drinking. We provide instructions for the generator, shower, and cookstove within the cabin, but we're also happy to show you "the ropes" when you arrive! The cabin has a spacious, covered porch that is perfect to enjoy meals on or watch the sunset from one of the rocking chairs. We have a large charcoal grill and picnic table that is perfect for family barbeques. A short walk towards the water will take you to a firepit-- perfect for cooking over or enjoying cool evenings in front of the fire. The dock we have overlooking the water is perfect for fishing, relaxing, and sunbathing. Penns Creek is navigable most of the year and is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, tubing, and of course: swimming! For an extra fee, we are happy to provide you with kayak rentals and/or pick-up from your adventures. We are happy to point you to well-maintained hiking trails in the surrounding area, swimming holes, fishing, golfing, bike trails and more. We have a cooler you are welcome to use, but you will need to bring your own ice (there is no fridge). Ice can also be purchased at a gas station or dollar store less than a mile away. Basic cookware and tableware are available including, plates, bowls, glasses, utensils, a pot, pans, and a coffee pot.

This place is a gem. Absolutely gorgeous location. It was cold during our stay. Knowing we would get in late, they lit the wood burning stove for us and it was so cozy when we arrived. A+Customer Service!
Overall, the listing is essentially exactly as described, the hosts were fantastic, and it’s a really great place for a “getaway”. We did a long weekend stay, which felt like the perfect amount of time. Siobhan and Austin were fantastic hosts. They were extremely responsive, answered any questions we had, and were very friendly. The cabin itself was quite nice, almost exactly as described. The surrounding area was very peaceful, quaint and quiet. One thing to keep in mind is that this is not some “glamping” situation where everything is readily available for you (read the description). This, for us, added to the experience.
The cabin and the surrounding area were beautiful, peaceful, and private, even better than we expected! The dock is right there, and you can see the stream from the porch. The bed is cozier than I could possibly describe. Austin and Siobhan were really great at responding to questions we had. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that there were a couple of issues with the shower not working (Austin came and fixed it the first time, but then it stopped working again the morning we left, in the middle of my shower--so cold!), and we love outside showers, so this was one of the main reasons we booked the cabin. Other than that, it was so perfect, and exactly what we needed.
Beautiful setting on Penns Creek. The rain on the tin roof was very soothing. The platform dock over the creek as a great place to relax and watch the water flow by. Rustic and beautiful.

This is a secluded property where you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, but is centrally located between a few small towns that are worth checking out!
