Waouh, l'appartement avec ces hauts plafonds et chaque pièce colorée différemment permet de choisir sa pièce selon l'humeur. Les extérieurs (jardins {patio, étang } , forêt et balcon ) permettent de varier les plaisirs :-) . Je retourne demain (◔‿◔)

have spent 4 weeks in the Castello in the Tricolore Appartment with my Family. I was there for working reasons and had an ongoing project in Italy. We booked the appartment for 5 people- two children (2,6) and 3 adults- clearly stating that in the application or when we asked for reservation of the appartment- so ABnB and the host were informed about the age of the children and did accept the booking and the payment. The first week I was alone there, being absent from 8am-9pm working and eating outside- during this time the host was friendly towards me and even asked me if I wanted to reserve the appartment already for the next workstay. I was even absent completely the first weekend. The second week (as was accounced also) we arrived together with my family, still not being complete but only 4 instead of 5 people. The welcoming towards my children was unacceptable und most unfriendly I have ever experienced- no Hello no Welcome only angry discussion about their age and that they are below 7 - So I reminded her of her own rules (children above 2 accepted) and reminded her, that she was clearly informed before and shoudl have otherwise not accepted the booking or the money...She apparently was not aware of her own houserules she put in her add and I never received a proper excuse for that. The behaviour then continued over the next weeks...It was obvious that she was molested by children, sometimes she was trying to be friendly but only because her dogs really scared my youngest and to make up for that. Since we had only one car, my family dropped me off at work every day so we were almonst never at home from 8am-10pm (eating outside, being at the lake...) Nevertheless she informed me vial AbnB mail that we are too loud, not respecting other guests and moving "too loud" inside our appartment....The yard was open for everybody, but when my children used it twice (once at 11:30 am and once at 09:30)- they were playing not screaming only normal childrens noises and she was coming out screaming at my family like a crazy person that this is no kindergarden and we are molesting everybody (at 11:30am I would not consider it being night time...) I was contacted by her again via Abnb mail about that matter (while I was working and not at home) and I was really getting very angry, reminding her, that we are basically never at home, and that if the yard is for everyone to use, that this behaviour is absolutely not acceptable. She then accused me of not respecting other guests , should better educate my children (sorry but playing children are not being badly educated but behaving as normal children) and that it is my choice to have children... It was very obvious that she dislikes children in the house but it is her choice to accept the booking - so it is clearly recommended , to put in the add that children are NOT permitted. I also reminded her that we are also guests and she should treat us as such. She herself was drinking and chatting loudly in the yard until 11 in the night - which for me was totally ok I had no porblem what so ever but apparently she has a double standard for herself and us. I think this place can be a nice location for people with no children. She also has a strong oppinion on everyhing and to be honest I did not never feel comfortable there nor welcome. I felt constantly surveilled about anything there (children, how I separated the waste, how I used the washing mashine, etc) We tried to be absend most of the time because it was clearly perceivable that this is her yard and home and that we were not really welcome. Ok- that might be only a personal issue between the host and me so that should not be the case for other people- but generally I would not recommend this place for families. The appartment was ok and comfortable, but extremely hot. the windows had be kept open all the time - making loads of animals/insects enter the appartment. Squirrels were extremely loud in the roof and also running through the appartement leaving their remainings inside. The beds in the second bedroom were too small for normal people- only suitable for childrens. Apart from that the appartment was nice also it was very good, to be able to make laundry. You should be aware of the 6 dogs moving freely. My mother joined us the last week and she also had a dog so it was fine, that this was no problem (he apparently has no problem with dogs but only wih children). Nevertheless our puppy made some noises during the night and she was also blaming us for that- but to be honest her dogs and all the neighbour dogs were really really loud all the time also during night time so again she was applying double standards... The location was not very nice- it is far from supermarkets, restaurants etc. but also you do not have nice green areas where you can walk around in direct neighbourhood so you will always need your car. In summary I can state, that this experience for me was not at all good. It should have been clear, that this is no place for children before the booking - there are nice options around (e.g. Fattoria de Pasque ) for families. Maybe it could be a nice option for people without children, since the appartments are quite nice. I will for sure not come back. I also want to state, that my children behaved completely "normal", we did not damage anything, left everything clean and they are brought up to be careful with other peoples' things- I have never had any problems with appartements or hotels ...

A place to fall in love and forget the world outside We stayed 9 nights at Castello di Montonate and enjoyed every minute. Evelyn is an excellent host who really cares that you feel comfortable. At this time of the year her garden is a gem and we were happy that Evelyn invited us to stay there whenever we wanted to. Our appartment was spacious and gave us the feeling of living in a castle. Every room is tastefully furnished and decorated. There was a large living room and a large kitchen with everything you need. One of the bedrooms has a small balcony, just fine to sit down and have en early morning coffe or spend some time to read. We definitely love to come back to Montonate. Its an exellent place to relax and explore the area around Varese. And if you don't feel to cook your own meals, there is an Osteria within walking distance.
