Wow! That place was hard to find. Make sure your quadruple check that your Maps brings you to the correct location rather than redirecting you. It brought us 15 mins in the wrong direction. Other than that, such a cool property and worked perfectly for our golf trip!

I stayed here for one night with my 2 siblings as a little get-away to celebrate my sister's 60th, and because it's near the Horicon Marsh (high recommend btw!). If all you're looking for is a crash pad after attending a wedding at the barn across the way, then this place is great. The grounds are amazing... extensive, gorgeous. So, the setting is lovely. The house is spacious, with lots of sleeping options. But if you're wanting to use it as a more typical *house* -- to cook and eat and hang in -- then I might suggest you keep looking. Unless maybe you're only staying one night, like I did -- then all the annoyances would be minor. In general, the kitchen was poorly equipped... only odds and ends for dishware, glasses and cookware. Most glaringly, there were only paper plates. For $350-400 per night, I'd expect proper plates! Also, there wasn't really anywhere to eat indoors. There is one small table that has leaves that fold up or down -- it can seat 4, maximum. But any sort of large-ish meal would be very difficult to both prepare and enjoy indoors. That said, the deck outside is lovely. Evening shade is abundant, so even if it's hot, it's a great place to lounge. And the dining table out there is large. But the deck furniture is torn and frayed. Still works, of course, but again -- for the rate being charged, I would have expected things to be in better condition. The air conditioning was a bit wonky, too. The upstairs, where the bedrooms are, never got truly cool. Running the floor fans made it ok, and then in the middle of the night, it had cooled enough to open the windows, which helped. Daytime temps on our day were not even 90 deg, though, so it likely wouldn't be very comfortable on a hotter day. Meantime, the downstairs was over-air-conditioned, but the thermostat was locked behind a plastic shield, so we couldn't adjust it. All in all, the place was "tired." Shower door, kitchen drawers, outdoor furniture... all could stand to be reconditioned/replaced. I think it has seen a few too many large wedding parties in its day. Speaking of which, the last one must have ignored the "no smoking" signs posted because the stench of stale cigarette smoke was very strong upon entering. Cooking our dinner masked it a bit, and then throwing open the windows in the morning helped too. But that was unpleasant, even if it wasn't the owner's fault. Final advisories: the stairs leading to the bedrooms are *very* steep. Anyone with mobility issues should not rent this place. Also, as is stated in the description, do inquire about a wedding. Now having seen how close the barn is to the house, if there had been a wedding there on our night, we never would have gotten to sleep! Positives: beautiful grounds, very quiet (without a wedding), great deck, beds were comfortable, great water pressure in the shower.
