杜鲁门斯堡(Trumansburg) · 整套客房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Little Yellow House @ Yellow House B&B
Exposed beams in this backyard cottage tell of its former life as a small barn. New windows and doors offer views of the barns and pond. The tiny kitchen is stocked with (when available) eggs from our chickens, honey from our homemade granola, milk, fruit, and a locally roasted coffee. Breakfast baked goods will be delivered each morning, if you wish. Visit waterfalls, lakes, wineries, farmers markets, local shops, and then dine out at a nearby restaurant. The LYH has a wood burning stove. In the cold weather you will need to keep it going. The small electric baseboard heaters keep the place from freezing. In winter we often do not get plowed out until late night or the next morning. Four wheel drive a good clearance is a must. Please note, the bathroom is a tight squeeze. In addition to the cottage, we have three guest rooms in the big house. Guests are welcome to walk around the property and help themselves to fruit (black caps, currants, grapes, apples, etc.) in season. The Great Pyranees guardian dog, Griffy, is along with the chickens, ducks and our three black cats, Puffy, Toughie, and Sir Nigel Pynchon (Pynchie for short) roam the property. There is a grill outside the cottage for your use.
I spent a week at the LYH on a personal retreat. It was all that I had hoped for: quiet, peaceful, and safe - without feeling isolated. Lesley was friendly and responsive. The baked goods every morning were a welcome - and yummy - touch. The LYH was very clean and full of natural light. I would gladly stay here again!
the Little Yellow House is full of thoughtful and lovely touches that make it an oasis of refreshment and beauty. We especially appreciated the abundance of natural light! The tea selection was generous, and there was a bountiful supply of breakfast foods. We also enjoyed the many cozy spots to sit and read! Staying there was such a treat, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!
My husband and I absolutely loved staying here! We were treated to some staples in the fridge like milk and fruit and even fresh eggs and granola. To top it off every morning we had the most delicious baked goods delivered to the front porch! Lesley goes beyond what an Airbnb host normally does or needs to do. We loved the wood stove and enjoyed no tv. We got ourselves a good Agatha Christie book and read by the fire. It’s truly a special spot and hope to come back.
We had an outstanding three day weekend. Our location was perfect to get to the activities we planned but we felt secluded and private at the same time. The accommodations afforded us everything we needed and the breakfast baked goods were a welcome surprise. We truly felt at home snd hope to return.
Lesley was such a wonderful host! She and her sweet dog Griff greeted us when we arrived. The house was exactly what we were looking for - peaceful, private, and the location is beautiful. We awoke to fresh baked goods delivered to our door each morning! It was such a lovely time and we would definitely stay at Lesley’s place again!
Our place is in the middle of farm land and a small wood, but we are only 2 miles from Trumansburg where you will find cute shops and restaurants. Ithaca is at the south end of Cayuaga Lake and Watkins Glen is at the south end of Seneca Lake, each about a 25 minute drive. Both lakes are home to wineries, distilleries, artisanal cheese producers. There are many waterfalls to visit. History buffs will enjoy a trip to Seneca Falls and Auburn at the north ends of Cayuga and Owasco Lakes. The Corning Glass Museum in Corning, NY is well worth a day trip.
Although there is a bus into Tburg from Ithaca, unless you are an intrepid biker, it would be best to have a car.
自我介绍
I retired from the chaplaincy at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2015 and now work quarter time as parish priest for Christ Episcopal Church in Willard. I enjoy meeting people, but I love quiet. I love to walk, knit, make preserves, jellies, pickles and canned fruit. Mary Oliver is my favorite poet. My husband David is a physician who works in Newfoundland and Oneonta a little less than half-time. He likes to make Windsor chairs and do other wood-working. We keep chickens, ducks, and bees and make maple syrup in the early spring. We both love to read. We have a large guardian dog to keep predators off our birds, and three black cats to keep the vermin down.
