What a place to unwind and get that farm experience. When the description says working animal sanctuary, you really are right in the middle of a working farm. it's brilliant! We would definitely recommend!

I took my daughter and grand-daughter for a few days to the Sanctuary. After the madness of Christmas and New Year, we were looking for some peace and quiet. The lodge had it in spades. We arrived to be met by Cat and her wonderful pack of friendly Dalmatians. She showed us to our lodge and gave us full and informative instructions. The lodge had a hot tub which was just a wonderful addition. The lodge was clean and cosy and we felt very comfortable there. Cat was around if you needed her but left you to your own devices if you wished. We loved interacting with the animals. A highlight was meeting the lambs that had recently been born. Cat is an inspiration, rescuing all those animals and being completely responsible for them all! We couldn’t have been happier, it was exactly what the Dr ordered. 5* from us * please be aware that the lodge is quite remote so you will need the use of a car. The entrance into the farm is via a steep farm track *

Cat and her sister were really friendly and great to have a chat with. The lodges are so relaxing as they're away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. If you love animals you'll love it here, the dogs Cat owns are beautiful and have been through so much before being here. They have the best life now and there's a information pack in the lodge to read up on all of the animals around the farm. The hot tub is a bonus to sit in, as dusk sets in to watch the stars.

We chose this property, as liked the idea of being on a working farm, but it surpassed our expectations. The location is central to Dumfries and Ayr, the kitchen had all the utensils and equipment if you want to cook and you ca interact with the animals as much as you wish. We all loved the hot tub and the option to bbq or have a fire outside. The surroundings are stunning and give you the option to do as much or as little as you wanted. Cat was always on hand with recommendations as we needed and even small questions, she was fast to reply. The property was great, the beds were comfortable, we had enough space and we loved being able to look outside and admire the animals, passing birds and view. For us, having the dogs popping up to say hello every now and lovely. We had a 12 year old and 9 year old and having a balance of being able to head out to explore or be able to wander around and down to the river was a lovely balance. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Cat’s place and Cat herself. From the start she was responsive and helpful which was extra comforting to us as we had to book Cat’s place last minute, due to the cycling in Glasgow. Well, we believe that it was meant to be! The lodge was clean, had lots of room for our family and even had fresh eggs waiting for us. There were sweet lambs right outside our door and goats nearby. Cat offers farm tours, and you can also feed the baby lambs which we took full advantage of and what an amazing experience doing so and definitely a core memory for our youngest (and us). The welcome wagon of dalmatians was the best greeting we had at all our stays on our trip and we were extremely sad to leave early the next morning after only a one stay night. Anytime we’re in the area we will definitely stay at Cat’s again. Thank you once again Cat, we were meant to meet you and your fur babies!
