Lovely setting, great house and lots of entertainment on site. Hot tub was large and amazing! We had a great weekend and I would recommend this house to friends. Few minor issues… Sauna was broken and so was the poker table so we were allowed to use the games room in the next cottage. Some of the outside area was a little worse for wear - the bbq was dirty which was a shame as it was April and mild. There was no table top on the seating area and the grass hadn’t been cut (but it had rained a lot so maybe was too wet) was just a shame when we arrived as the first impression of the front door was long uncut grass. One of the bedrooms had a tv on the wall but the plug was too far away to plug it in. Also, we couldn’t find a grill pan to use in the kitchen for bacon to cook under the grill. Apart from these few minor issues, everything else was great! Communication with the host was fab and he even allowed us a late check out and early check in which was greatly appreciated!

We had a wonderful hen do for my daughter in Ian’s place! Perfect for a hen/stag do! The kitchen was well equipped. Lots of glasses! Hot tub was great. Very nice feel to the place. Small-pod Nespresso type machines in every bedroom and lots of pods. Unfortunately the sauna wasn’t working which was a shame. The only other problem was that we struggled to work out how to use the dishwashers! And I think previous people had also struggled because some of the glasses, saucepans etc needed handwashing before we could use them. Perhaps there could be some instructions? Pointers that might be helpful: We were 13, and not big people, and we fitted comfortably in the lounge and with a bit of a squash around the kitchen table. I wouldn’t have wanted more than 14 downstairs, although upstairs easily sleeps 18. All beds are singles which push together to make kings. Bedrooms are spacious except room 4. 1, 2 and 5 have en suites. Take decaf coffee pods if you want them!

The Retreat is awesome! We held a friend’s stag there and it had everything you could possibly wish for and more! The assault course was a particularly fun addition!

We have just returned from the most amazing weekend. 15 ladies celebrating my sister Hen do! The house is amazing and such a great party location! Would highly recommend. Ian is always on hand before and during the visit. Just an amazing trip all round, thank you!
