We were four related families of 8 adults and 8 children (aged 2-7). Chateau Le Chougnes was perfect for our annual holiday in rural France. The combination of bedrooms and bathrooms meant that each family was able to be suitably self-contained while able to enjoy the magnificence and charm of the rooms downstairs. These included a children's playroom equipped with an inexhaustible supply of toys, books and videos. The extensive and enclosed garden provided a safe and exciting area for the children to explore and play in. The large pool, with a safety cover, was a real highlight for everyone after mornings of exploring local towns and villages. Gregoire was a most gracious, discrete, generous and welcoming host who clearly enjoyed seeing the pleasure which his beautiful home provided for us. It was a real privilege to be able to spend a week in such a special place and everyone said that, of our many family holidays, this was much the best.

Gregoire was the perfect host. He couldn't have been more welcoming and was kind enough to give us plenty of privacy but was always available should we have any questions or recommendations. This beautiful house tucked in amongst fields of sunflowers was perfect for our group holiday of families all with young children. There was lots of space for us inside and out. The outdoor pool was heated and there was even a little climbing frame for the kids too. Thank you Gregoire for having us in your beautiful home. We all had a wonderful holiday and would love to come back another time

We had a beautiful stay in Grégoire’s chateau. Not only is it an incredible house with plenty of space to accommodate a large group of adults and kids, but there was great flexibility in the space to hang out and spend time together in various rooms and places so that we could still relax and eat comfortably when it rained . The kitchen was excellently equipped which made catering for our large group much easier. The pool area is wonderful. Grégoire is a charming, relaxed and responsive host who welcomed us to his home and made us feel comfortable and happy. We would definitely come again!

Firstly, thank you, Gregoire, for allowing us to stay in your family home! We were a group of 30-60+ year olds, celebrating a 30th birthday and everyone enjoyed their stay. There was plenty of space, both inside and out, for 15 of us to take part in a range of activities including a lovely pool area as well as boules, table tennis, billiards, an orchard to walk around and hammocks to rest in. The weather (in July!) meant that we had to eat and stay inside for a couple of evenings so we used the large dining table and had a choice of two lounges with room for all. Gregoire was very welcoming and didn't complain about the loud (and often out of tune) karaoke. He was on hand for anything we needed and allowed us to stay in the kitchen and outside area beyond the 10 o'clock deadline, while we shuttled friends to the station at Chatelleraut.

We were a group of 15 aged between 11 and 80 and everyone of us enjoyed our stay in our different ways. The swimming pool and billiards were both much enjoyed. Greg was a perfect host, always there when you needed him, and relaxed, welcoming and friendly. The house and grounds were beautiful, and sensitively conserved, not overdone. The facilities were efficient and up to date and the house was comfortable to live in. Everything you could need was provided, and the kitchen excellent. We felt privileged to be there. The surrounding countryside was spacious, peaceful agricultural farmland and the local villages attractive with easy access to the Loire chateaux and vineyards. There were many interesting places to visit and good local shops, restaurants and supermarkets.
