Tonsupa is known as the quiet beach, but only a few miles away, a $2 mototaxi ride, is Atacames, a medium sized city, known as the party beach. This condo has more amenities than any other in Ecuador. The balcony overlooks 7 pools and 2 spas, each very unique. The balcony has a handmade table of the cross section of an exotic tree, with bamboo legs, plus 4 folding chairs of exotic wood, plus a hammock. There are 2 folding PVC beach chairs. I bought this condo new during construction, had all cabinets and vanities custom made of exotic woods, by a local craftsman. All wooden furniture was also designed and built of exotic woods by this same craftsman. All decorative accessories were made locally. There are dugout boats mounted on the wall above the beds. I shipped in a leather Lazyboy sleeper sofa with built in air mattress. When unfolded, there is an air pump to inflate to desired firmness. There is also a leather Stressless recliner, ottoman, and a folding arm food or desk tray. There is a teal dining table with 4 chairs. There is also a solid teak hi-lo table with folding leaves. The condo has 3 TVs plus CD player. The entertainment center was custom made. The bookcase was made from the remains of an old dugout boat. Sports courts include tennis, basketball, volleyball, plus beach volleyball on holidays and most weekends. This condo complex is on the beach, on the Pacific Ocean. Security is provided 24/7 by security guards at the gates and the beach. This condo is located less than 1° N of the equator and has virtually perfect weather all year. The daily high temperatures are 83° F with a cool breeze off the ocean. Night temperatures are a perfect 72° F. Although there are 3 remote controlled air conditioners, I never used them, and always had windows and double sliding doors open. I loved sleeping with only a sheet for cover. There is concierge service for luggage, groceries or any other assistance. This unit is on the 4th floor, served by 2 elevators, which also serve underground reserved parking. The Manager on duty is bilingual, lives on the property and is the son of the owner/developer. The condo website is playaalmendro.com. I lived there 3 years and loved it.
