Beautiful home with a beautiful view. We needed 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway. We also did not get to enjoy the beach because of the wind. Every time going outside to enjoy the patio or beach we got sand blasted. Two of us are from Waldport and one grew up in a home in Bayshore a few blocks away so sand was no surprise but the amount on the spit was pretty crazy. We literally needed wrap around sunglasses or goggles to walk outside. It will be perfect for someone who just wants to enjoy the view. However, I came to play on the beach with my grandnephews. It was also very expensive. I had already committed to my niece I would book it before seeing the fees. My fault.

What an incredible place for our family vacation! We had never been out to the west coast, and Cheryl & Geno’s place made the perfect home base for day trips up towards Newport (barking sea lions in the bay, breweries (Newport, Wolf Tree, Rogue), Driftwood Beach & Seal Rock) and also down towards Florence (good walks at Woahink Lake & Heceta Lighthouse, and two good hikes at China Creek to Hobbit Hole & also Saint Perpetua to the Giant Spruce, with stops at Yachats Brewing on our way back to the house!). We loved our AM & PM beach walks, watching the crab boats, and our 2-year-old loved splashing in the tidal pools at low tide (too cold for the rest of us!). The house set-up was perfect for our 3 couples + toddler. We did group dinners nightly around the huge island (daily seafood trips up to South Beach Fish Market in Florence to get fish to grill at the house) and games in the living room! We did need to stock up on a few things (oil, vinegar) but Ray’s is right there in Waldport!

Perfect location right on the beach! Roomy bedrooms. Well stocked kitchen. Comfy Adirondack chairs made it awesome for soaking in the views and watching the stars at night. Enjoyed our stay!
