The place inside is exactly as described, and we enjoyed our time there. The office space accessible by climbing the ladder is not very usable, but that did not bother us much. What we did not expect was the porch, which is in bad shape and borderline unusable. The area around the cottage has not been attended to for a while, so using the space beside the house was impossible. Also, I'd like to point out that the only restaurant in the town of Hobart is closed. The liquor store (and it is a good one!) is the only open business, along with a few bookstores. However, there are some excellent options 20 minutes drive from the cottage.
Beautiful little getaway tucked in the mountains of the Catskills - enough to do in the area for daily excursions but if you’re looking to stay outside at the BNB, you may want to look elsewhere because the backyard/deck is not finished. One inconvenience was that we were requested to take the trash out in our car to bring back home.
Great as an intimate getaway, away from the world. Home was very clean and quiet.
Great place tucked away in the mountains. Loved the wood burning stove. You can't go wrong with this little gem in the woods!
Very very cozy! Chris's place was as described, off the beaten path, private and perfect for my husband and I and our dog to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the great outdoors! We drove about 17 min to some hiking, walked the Catskills rail trail (was only a 6min drive there) enjoyed reading by the fireplace with the many many choices of books that Chris had, played scrabble and cards and enjoyed the sunrise in the morning with a tasty drip cup of coffee in the am. The bed was very comfortable, and while we did here some scampering of "critters above" as mentioned in previous reviews, it was not all night and never saw one at all inside the home. The house was very modern farmhouse, clean with all the kitchen supplies needed for cooking. Great place to get away and enjoy nature! Our dog loved it too!
