L'Ancien Presbytere Cottage Gite is set in a walled garden at the centre of a small peaceful French village. Two minutes in any direction and you will find beautiful countryside.
Set midway between the north and south coasts of Brittany this is the perfect base to explore and discover all that is on offer in this stunning part of the world.
The south coast is just an hours drive and the north coast only half an hour further.
Our nearest inland beach can be found at Lac de Guerledan just a 25 minute drive away.
There’s so much to see and do here in this ‘Celtic corner of France’. If you like the outdoors, the location is ideal, with lanes to cycle or walks surrounded by wild life and nature along the nearby Nantes Brest canal. A visit to the nearby beautiful Lac de Guerledan, the largest lake in Brittany, is an experience not to be missed. As well as the fabulous coastlines, we also especially recommend a visit to Bon Repos Abbey and market; Josselin with its beautiful castle; Vannes for a wander along the ramparts and the town before stopping for lunch at one of the creperies in the square, the Valley of the Saints and Concarneau with its harbour, beaches and old walled town.
More about Lac de Guerledan - This enormous lakes stretches for over 12km and is the centre for many outdoor activities and water sports. Spend an afternoon canoeing or kayaking on the lake or swim and relax while soaking up the sun on one of the beaches. The 7000 acre Forest de Quenecan surrounds the lake and is fabulous for mountain biking, there are almost 300 trails in the area of varying length and difficulty. If you love to walk, hike or run why not take advantage of the space and beauty. If you are feeling adventurous you could also try rock climbing at one of the nearby gorges. There are also boats and pedalos for hire or for the ultimate lake experience take a sightseeing boat cruise along the lake.
The nearest restaurants, a Bistro and a Pizzeria, are only a 5 minute drive away in Langoelan.
Guemene Sur Scorff a lively and friendly village is only a 15 minute drive from the Cottage. Here there are a number of shops including: a boulangerie, a charcuterie, grocers, florist and gift shop, newsagent, tabac, brocantes, a pharmacy, doctors, banks, post office and an Intermarche supermarket. There are bars and restaurants as well as an excellent tourist office, a Roman bath and a ruined chateau! The village plays host to many fairs and festivals throughout the year including antique markets and free music festivals.

We are very lucky here our roads are rarely busy & nearly all come with wonderful views. Our road signs are very good too & there are always places to stop often with public conveniences, picnic benches & often with a walk nearby.
