Experienced issue at checkin (missing key) and upon getting in, discovered many bugs, dirt, and signs that nobody has stayed here in a while such as unplugged lamps, and light switches that don’t do anything. It could be a great place if it were maintained and cleaned, especially since a cleaning fee is charged. Rent from real people who host, not a company like Evolve.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay because the remote location was what we wanted, and the New Mexico mountains are beautiful. The home had tons of beautiful natural light, tasteful furniture, and the kitchen was well stocked. But Evolve needs to do better keeping up their properties, and be more forthright about the drawbacks people should expect. There is no air conditioning or heat at this property, which was not disclosed until days before our stay. Additionally, the road in to the property is unpaved for miles, which was extremely bumpy and uncomfortable to drive every day, and was also a surprise to us. We also were not notified that there is no WiFi at the property until several days before. We made due, but in this day and age, that’s a hard one for a lot of folks, especially a family with kids like us. The toilets were both having trouble flushing, and there were other issues of misrepair throughout the house. It would also be much nicer for customers if they put a tv in the living room (the only tv is in the side bedroom), and and replaced the futon in the side bedroom with an actual bed. When we wanted to watch something together, we had to move chairs into the small bedroom to do so. All that said, being out in nature was refreshing, and although the house got hot during the day, it cooled down at night, we saw shooting stars, and enjoyed listening to the cicadas singing. If you are ok with all the drawbacks, then give this property a chance, and hopefully Evolve will fix some of the issues, to make this a better stay.
