Maryann’s cottage was exactly what we expected. I contacted her prior to booking based on past reviews and a gap for >12 months. she explained that they had been using the property and made some repairs. SO GLAD WE BOOKED!! We had a relaxing time, the bed was super comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. we made Breakfast every morning that was enjoyed on the deck. The lake was a 5 min walk and so peaceful. Lots of local country stores and surrounding city’s with pleanty to do. we would 100% return for a long get away. The no TV made for forced cards, Yatzee, music and conversation, much needed. One request would be an added fire pit, as we enjoy that at night. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Mary Ann’s place was cute and cozy. It was in a nice lake community with good privacy and all the basic necessities. She had all instructions and things to do listed and it was well stocked with extra linens, soap and basic kitchen essentials to make a decent meal. Thank you!

The house and yard were nice, albeit the interior was pretty dated. We particularly enjoyed the deck, and the close proximity to the Appalachian Trail as well as a great little country store/diner. The biggest issue we had was an awful sulfur/sewage odor from the bathroom. The most recent review also mentioned this, and that it was to be resolved right away, but it wasn’t resolved for our stay, and it was a very bad smell that sometimes permeated the entire house. The 2nd bed is a fold-out, small for an adult. For the relatively high price of staying here, there are suggestions we would make which would improve the experience, and help justify the cost: a TV (not much else to do when it rains), a microwave, and a fire pit. Also, we were afraid to use the wireless due to a message that appeared on our devices: “this network is blocking encrypted traffic.” On the web Apple said it could mean that the host can monitor and record all of your traffic. This sounded risky for us to use.

The place was clean and lovely. Mary Ann was extremely responsive to any questions I had. The only drawback was there was a smell from the bathroom, but I told Mary Ann about it and she said she would take care of it immediately. If you are smell sensitive, you might just want to make sure that has been corrected. Other than that, the place was exactly what we were looking for.

Mary Ann's Becket Cottage was adorable. The cottage was entirely cozy, and we were able to start our day on the deck with our coffee surrounded by woods. Totally peaceful and relaxing! Although we didn't go swimming, the lake was just a short walk away. It was just right for a convenient jumping off location to the Berkshires.
