The best Airbnb experience I've ever had!! Banka is an amazing host. She picked me up in Choibalsan, and we drove about 4 hours to the countryside. It was a very authentic experience--it didn't feel like a tour at all and instead felt more like hanging out with Banka, her family, and friends for a couple of days. Banka and her family are incredibly sweet and went out of their way to make sure I had a good time. For example, when I said I was interested in Buriad music, Banka arranged for me to hear local elders sing. Her friends took me to the lake and river where we saw foxes, cranes, and other wildlife. We also played archery and other games, made buuz, rode a horse and a motorcycle around the grasslands, etc. Her family even gave me fresh Buriad butter, bread, and jam before I left. The space itself is a house in Dashbalbar sum, but you can visit her parents in a more remote region of the countryside in their summer mobile home container. We weren't able to shower (I think it was only because the power wasn't working), but Banka helped me wash my hair. I had such a good time that I'm going to try to make it a priority to visit next summer.
