The location of this place is ideal. Within walking distance to a lot of restaurants and the amusement park and water park. This was great with kids! The pool was warm and comfortable and not busy, which was great. Unfortunately the grounds of this place is very outdated and not maintained well. The area is beside a trailer park and the views aren't great, depending where your room is located. The area always smells like mildew since it is built on a marsh. It was similar to a campground feel. The room itself was do-able, but I wouldn't stay again. It had the bare minimum amenities. For the price, it isn't awful. My biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the place. When we first walked in, it didn't seem bad. My babies were crawling on the floor when we arrived and their feet and legs were immediately black from the dirt on the floor. There was no mop or anything to clean with. The place is also dated, which would have been ok if it was cleaned well. Location is prime.

Thanksgiving in Chincoteague has become a tradition. This was our third straight year at the Assateague Inn. We love everything about it: value, location ambience a the helpful owners.

I think "adorable" is a big stretch to describe these rooms; "affordable" is much more apt. We usually stay in one room at the Refuge but we chose Assateague Inn this year for additional space — we are a family of 4 and one of our kids is a teenager now. Nothing went horribly wrong during our stay but there were some areas in need of improvement. My major complaint was that the bathrooms reeked of mildew. There was also a lamp that didn't work, the TVs were each stuck on one channel, and one of the faucets sprayed water everywhere. (I've advised the hosts of these issues.) The grounds and pool are very bare bones. If I had to describe our stay in one word, it would be "adequate." You definitely get what you pay for! We decided room quality is more important to us than space and will be returning to the Refuge Inn next summer.

The unit is divided into two studios each with its own bed. The location of the place is great. You are right next to quite a few good places to eat (Village, Pico, Bring Your Own Cookie) and other entertainment (Surfside Golf, Funland) and can get there by just walking. We were able to catch crabs down by the private dock which was amazing! Got to eat crabs everyday. The unit is a little outdated but for the price is a good value. NOTE: You will have to bring your own handsoap, body soap, shampoo, and paper towels.. The wifi is there, but can be slow. There is a stovetop that has two burners. Overall, we had a great trip!

Inn is lovely and in a very convenient location! I would recommend rooms on top floor or facing the water for better view and some space to hang out in an/pm out of doors.
