Absolutely loved my stay in Shelley’s & Alan’s home! It was beautiful and looked rich with history. The room was clean, quiet and extremely comfortable. Shelley was lovely. She made me feel right at home. Will definitely be staying here next time I’m around. Highly recommended 😊

House is being renovated. Very old -an air purifier would help and some dusting. Don’t think they were ready -the house looked in dire straights but cleaned up in the am. With snow/ice on stairs (cleaned in am) and porch and structurally unstable. House is poorly lit on a poorly lit street. I was in a bit of shock as I travel a lot and had not seen such a situation. Prefer no political signs-neutral. The room upstairs was ok- in need of sprucing/dusting -clearing toys, etc off the shelves with some fresh things. The lighting was very dim -asked for a lamp which he brought quickly so I could see. The bedspread was nice and I slept ok except for the air quality and lock didn’t work. Dryer in the bath with necessities. The lady was in the kitchen when I left-never met. It would have been easy to apologize for the mess and say hi, but not a word. I would have understood, but felt so uncomfortable, I just wanted to get out. I wish them the best. Maybe a bad time? I gave a generous rating…

Check in is at 5pm, which worked great for me as I didn't arrive until around 8:30pm. Shelley greeted me upon my arrival and showed me to my room and pointed out the bathroom. She told me the bed has electric sheets that keep you nice and warm (awesome!) - nothing like hopping under the covers to a nice warm bed on a cold evening. I slept great. The room is decorated very nice, even a lighted Christmas multi-layer light Christmas display in the corner - I turned it on for some ambience. It was very nice. The room and bed are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom has a huge tub (I didn't use) that would be even tall enough if you were 7 feet tall! The shower was nice and hot and bathroom is updated with recent plumbing fixtures, floor, sinks, etc. It looks great. I couldn't have felt more welcome and enjoyed my stay. Alan even gave me a quick rundown of the home and I'd love to hear more about it someday. I hope to come back another time in the near future. A++

Shelley and Alan were some of the most friendly people! We felt bad that we arrived in the midst of supper with friends, but Shelley was so gracious and spent time with us while their party went on. Great value for the price.
