Our apartment is in a house built in the 1790s directly overlooking the historic port. We have retained many original features to create an apartment full of character. The house faces south, with views of the port and the mountains beyond. It offers a spacious lounge with double doors opening on to a balcony, a modern kitchen, two stylish bedrooms (one double, one with two singles which can make a double) with ensuite shower and WC, and a small private shady terrace with table and chairs. If you want great scenery, bright sunshine, a stunning view, an area full of historic and cultural links, excellent wine and fresh fish, oysters and lobster you will love it here, as we do. You can get all you need within a short walk, soak up the distinctive Catalan atmosphere, and swim in local creeks and beaches, take a walk on the well signed coast path or just sit and watch the world go by. The lifeboat, customs launch, pilots, commando training craft, local fishing boats and dive school boats are all moored in front of the house, and when the red lights are flashing some larger craft is arriving, maybe a tall ship, a cruise boat, a naval vessel, a cargo boat full of oranges and pineapples or a luxury superyacht.

Emplacement idéal et malgré le mois d’août c’était très calme ! Nous avons toujours réussi à nous stationner devant le logement (gratuitement) L’appartement est très bien emménagé, la cuisine très bien équipée c’est vraiment un chouette logement ! Nous étions 2 adultes et 2 enfants Tous les commerces sont accessibles à pied L’accueil de Linda a été très sympathique Il fait bon vivre à port vendres Allez y les yeux fermés
Wir haben eine tolle Woche in Lindas schöner Wohnung verbracht. Die Wohnung ist geräumig, gemütlich und ruhig. Port-Vendres ist ein hübsches Fischerdorf abseits grosser Tourismusströme. Trotzdem gibt es viele gute Restaurants. Linda war sehr hilfsbereit und herzlich und immer da wenn wir etwas brauchten.
Le logement est très agréable, popre et joliment décoré. Il est bien placé dans Port-vendres puisque nous nous sommes garés juste devant l'appartement et avons tout fait à pied. Linda a été très gentille, nous avons eu du retard et elle a été très disponible. La vue est superbe du salon. Je recommande.
Very well located appartment, facing the harbour. A few minutes walk to all amenities, including the local farmers market. The flat was as described, very clean and well kept. Linda and David are very friendly and gave us a very warm welcome while respecting our privacy. Would definitely stay again.

Port-Vendres is a small fishing port on the edge of the Pyrenees, surrounded by hills up to 1000m.
In the summer there are lively festivals and concerts, and sometimes fireworks displays both here and in the neighbouring towns. You can take a boat trip on a sailing yacht or a glass bottomed boat visiting the marine reserve, or go fishing, or on a dolphin watching trip. There are numerous small beaches and creeks for swimming, snorkelling and diving, as well as boat hire and dive schools. The port is busy with sailing boats and motor launches, historic boats, superyachts, fishing boats and a weekly cargo boat bringing fruit from west africa.
Out of season the pace is slower, but there is always activity and the restaurants remain open. It is a great time for hill walking, and in spring the flowers on the hillside are a constant joy, while flocks of migrating birds call as they pass by (storks and cranes, birds of prey and colourful rarities like roller, hoopoe and bee-eaters).
You can buy fresh fish on the quay, and excellent local wines. The town's best restaurant is just on the quay below the house, and there is an excellent oyster bar and fish market round the corner. Even in November it is often warm enough to sit on the balcony with a glass of Muscat Sec watching the sun sink below the hilltops.
There are good public transport links so you do not need to come by car. The 1€ bus will take you along the coast to Cerbere, Banyuls, Collioure and the beaches at Argeles. The local train service makes it easy to get to Perpignan, Narbonne, Beziers, Sete or Carcasonne for a day trip.
The picturesque coastal port of Collioure is a 25 minute walk, or why not hire a mountain bike or a kayak?
Perpignan airport has regular links to Paris, Charleroi, London Stansted, Birmingham, Southampton and Dublin, in the summer season. You can also access the area from Girona airport , Beziers, Montpellier and Carcasonne.
The apartment does not have private parking, but even in the summer season you will be able to find a place in the road, or along the quay below the house without having to pay.
