We cannot give enough stars for our stay with Marta and her father Daniel. Our only regret is that we had more than a week to experience their property and way of life. We came 6 people and one dog with all very different tastes and desires and each of us experienced exactly what we needed. The gardens for my mother. The architecture and attention to detail for my father. The sheep and goats for our beagle Lulu. The fresh herbs for me. For my sister, she found a 5 day old kitten in the road. Daniel arrived the next day with a carrier to take the kitten to the vet. He ended up keeping her and named her Georgia. For my wife, the pastoral scene which we called our private theatre. Porto, Ponte de Lima, Braga(we saw Spain vs Portugal football match there), the national park. Everything is so close. We just can’t say enough. We will definitely come back and we already miss them.

Casa de Vilar de Rei was really a very special place, one of the best experiences I have had with AirBNB. The house is a gorgeous renovation of a barn, with thoughtful rustic decorations. There are many places to sit, both inside and out. The beds were big and comfortable. There was AC though we did not need it. We did a fair bit of cooking for our group of six (two families) and the kitchen had everything we needed. In terms of comfort, nothing was missing. And there is the view of the landscape, which I called "our movie." Because we would sit outside eating or drinking and watch the sheep and goats in the distance eat in the pasture. There are many places to relax here, whether at the outside table under the open wood shed, on day beds or by the lovely pool. The gardens are well tended, with tons of fresh herbs, and lemon and orange trees. There was also a small vegetable garden that gave us a steady supply of tomatoes and peppers. If you like living amid nature (while still being very comfortable) this is a place for you. Marta's father uses all organic methods so there are no chemicals to worry about. We did a lot of day trips: Porto is only an hour away. We also did day trips to the coast, and spent time in Ponte di Lima as well, a lovely town big enough to support good restaurants, supermarkets, etc. If I had a complaint, it was that we did not spend enough time here. If we had had two weeks instead of one, I would have spent more time lounging at the pool or reading my books. Most of all, just relaxing in nature. In a word, this place is special.

Meilleur logement jamais loué! Des hôtes à l’ecoute, prévenants. Le domaine est splendide. La maison est aménagée avec énormément de goût. Tout est pensé. Je recommande. La literie est impeccable et confortable. Nous avons passé un séjour au calme, dans un coin de nature. Conforme à l’annonce.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Very quiet and serene. The house is very spacious and well decorated. The grounds and common areas are delightful to wander around in. We spent 10 days here and still didn’t want to leave. Marta and her father are great host. They are quick to respond to any needs and pleasant to chat with. We can’t say enough good things about them.

O lugar é mesmo incrível, do detalhe ao todo o local inspira paz e tranquilidade! Tanto a Marta como o Daniel foram super solicitos e tiveram uma grande atenção conosco! Viajamos eu e minha familia e passamos muitíssimo bem! O jardim é incrível e repleto de arvores frutíferas e ervas por todo lado! A região também tem bastante coisas interessantes para se fazer, mas estando na casa vais querer aproveitar a natureza ao seu máximo!
