If you're looking for peace and quiet away from the more touristy spots then this place is great. House is really nice, private, three good size bedrooms. The bathroom is somewhat small, but this is compensated by the outside shower, which is lovely when you come back from a swim (beach is couple of minutes walk). Kitchen and living room are large, although we did not spend much time in them. There is a super terrace on the top floor, gets the first sun of the day, great place for breakfast. Potami itself is small - there are three restaurants (two of which close at about 1900) and a very funky, friendly cocktail bar which is open until late. There is no shop in Potami. I would strongly recommend a car, for doing the groceries and visiting the rest of the island. Karlavasi is a decent town a couple of km from Potami. 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk. There are many restaurants there, plus other amenities (supermarket, pharmacy etc). Host always responsive. We loved our stay

Το σπίτι είναι πανέμορφο, βγαλμένο λες από τη δεκαετία του 80 με την εγκυκλοπαίδεια Δομή στη βιβλιοθήκη, και το ωραίο πέτρινο πάτωμα στο σαλόνι. Κουζίνα οργανωμένη, με καφετιέρα και ηλεκτρικά μάτια, ψυγείο, πλυντήριο, σκεύη, πιάτα, ποτήρια κτλ. Ωραίος κήπος με καρποφόρα δέντρα. Έχει 3 κρεββατοκαμαρες, ένα μπάνιο αρκετά μικρό, και μια εξωτερική ντουζιέρα που βοηθαει την κατάσταση αν είστε πολλά άτομα. Για εμάς που είμασταν μόνο δυο ήταν μια χαρα. Το μόνο μικρό θέμα είναι τα κρεβάτια που όπως βλέπετε από τις φωτογραφίες είναι τα παλιά σιδερένια. Τα στρώματα είναι μια χαρά, και τα κρεβάτια δεν τρίζουν αλλά είναι διπλά όποτε αν είστε συνηθισμένοι σε φαρδιά κρεβάτια με άαααπλα θα έχετε ένα θεματάκι. Εμάς δεν μας δυσκόλεψε καθόλου αλλά νομίζω αξίζει να το αναφέρω. Κατά τα αλλά πραγματικά χαρήκαμε αυτό το σπίτι.. μου θύμισε διακοπες στο εξοχικό φίλων τελειώνοντας το λύκειο ένα πράγμα.. back to the future ας πουμε :-)

Another beautiful stay in the River house, this time with extended family, 5 of us. I highly recommend the location for summer or off season stays, as there are so many beautiful walks to do, as well as a stunning and very swimmable beach 3 minutes away on foot. The waterfalls directly behind the house included. While most people might use a car, we did not need one, walked to the pretty port, and used taxis for heavy shopping, which are easy to find and reasonably priced. As before, very quick responses from our host with any questions and when we had a problem with the internet it was quickly resolved and we had excellent coverage all over the house. Potami beach bar, just near the house has excellent reasonably priced food too, and the nearby Cafe Del Mundo is also a lovely place to take in the mountain view. Due to the large shady garden, however, the house feels very private. The house has all you need and the upstairs terrace is a great place to watch the night sky.

Heerlijke plek met veel privacy. Vanaf het huis prachtige wandelroutes van samos hikes. Vlakbij het mooie potamibeach, dichtbij de haven en op mooie afstand van het levendige Karlovassi.

We enjoyed this house so much! The location is perfect if you like nature and peace and quiet. The beach is around the corner and beautiful walks start in the backyard. Even though it was late season there were still a few catering establishments open within walking distance. But about 10 minutes away, there is also a good supermarket. So we also made our own food in the house. The house has everything you need for a nice stay. Especially the terrace upstairs is great to sit in the evening and watch the stars. The contact with Sarantos was very nice. He responded immediately to our questions. So for me this is definitely a place I want to come back to; I already miss it!
