We are located in the neighborhood (barrio) of San Antonio in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. One of the last affordable neighborhoods close to the beaches with ocean views. Las Palmas's main bus station San Telmo - with cheap (max €3 per person ) 24hr bus service to the airport right below. Las Canteras Beach, Historic Oldtown Vegueta, Museums, Parks, University Campus's, Hospital, Walking and Bicycle Trails all can be found close to our home by walking, bicycle bus or car. Yes, we are not right on the beach but for the price per night, city access and comfort you can't go wrong. Sure, our neighborhood is on a hill, walking uphill can be no fun, but it is worth it. City Bus Service runs hourly during the day past our home and a short walk away is 24hr bus routes. Bike and walking trails right beside the house. Rental car drivers can find free parking here in our neighborhood which is good as the city averages €20 /day parking in high tourist zones. The amazing views and access options to the whole city are right here. Park Rehoyas is right near to us and includes an amazing free access climbing wall, kids play areas and full gymnasium pool complex. There is even an elevator to get you up and down the hill a bit if you dont like walking :) . Bike and walking trails are everywhere and access to beaches, seafront, historic areas. Plus our beds are just comfy. We provide clean sheets, blankets and pillows. Free unlimited WiFi in the hostel. I think we already mentioned the free instant coffee. There is a local grocery outside our door with near same prices as the big box retailers for fresh fruit, vegetables and meat / cheese.

Local GuaGua city bus #32 departs to the main beach right beside our house during the day. There are night buses that will get you to the main bus station (San Telmo) a 15 minute walk below to our house. From San Telmo you can catch buses throughout the city and island. As well to the airport direct. Bus fare is relatively cheap compared to most of Europe and Spain's mainland. Guests are encouraged to take transit or in bigger groups to rent a car to both save money and the environment. Gran Canaria has amazing and cheap transit. You can pay direct with euros in cash to bus drivers or purchase various discounted multi route / day travel cards at the bus stations. The company Global operates the blue buses that run around the island. And the company GuaGua operates the yellow buses that run in Las Palmas city. Both operate routes 24/7. You can travel to the city from the airport 24/7 (70 km) by taking the inter-island Global (blue) buses #1, 5, 11, 60 or 91 from LPA airport to San Telmo bus station for around €3 per person one-way. From the San Telmo bus station you may walk - uphill remember - 15 mins to the house. The uphill walk by the stairs or car route sidewalks from the main bus station San Telmo is beautiful and historic however it can be tiring for many guests. City transit is max €2 per trip per person without discounted travel cards. During the day from San Telmo bus station you can take bus #9 uphill to stop: Sta. Luisa de Marillac (Bingo Cinema), and walk about 7 mins downhill to our home along the road atop Park Rehoyas. Another option is a short walk from San Telmo bus station to Mata Castle and Mata Road and can take city buses #32, 33 or 9 to arrive uphill at stop: Sta. Luisa de Marillac (Bingo Cinema), to avoid having to walk fully up the hill. #32 at certain times drops off right beside our home at Bus stop: Gloria (Agustina de Aragón). If booking a rental car (€8 - 65 / day) do so well in advance for cheaper prices. If renting a car we highly recommend Autoreisen from the airport. :).
