Beautiful villa with amazing views of the lake. Elena and her mum were very welcoming and helpful. They provided a delicious breakfast. Elena was always responsive and gave us great recommendations on places to eat and things to do nearby. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The garden was also beautiful but since we were unlucky with the weather, we would be keen to return to experience Villa Azalea at its best!

Elena was the perfect host - polite, welcoming and warm. The accommodation is also fantastic - a comfortable bed, large room and great views of Lake Orta. The breakfast provided was also delicious and generous - will keep you full until dinner! Elena also provides a useful & thoughtful guide for things to see in the local area. We ate at Antica Cartiera which is nearby on Elena’s recommendation and that did not disappoint! This place was one of the best we stayed at during our 3 week Italian trip - if it’s available book it pronto!

Where do I even start. This is an actual B&B. An Italian villa nestled below a giant rock quarry—one the owner’s great uncles bought in the early 1900s and from which the stones of the villa came. The Iris room, where we stayed, had a balcony overlooking Lake Orta with a straight-shot view of Isola San Guilio and Orta. Woke up each morning to birds chirping and natural light hitting upon a giant, beautiful antique wardrobe in the room. All the furniture, art, everything was gorgeous. And the grounds were lush with mature vegetation. On top of all that, we enjoyed complimentary breakfast each morning— a true feast of rotating local cheeses and meats, cooked-to-order eggs, coffee (courtesy of the nonna), yogurt and toppings, bread, local honey and jam, the list goes on. We couldn’t believe it. Hands down *the* best place we’ve ever stayed, and exceptional hospitality. Plus, bikes available for free use! Alzo is a lovely little town, and it’s easy to explore all of Orta from there.
