We feel the main house comfortably fits 10 people even though it does sleep 13. We have closed the gite to other guest rentals in order to ensure your health and safety. The entire house and property will be private for you. If you would like more room, it is possible to rent BOTH the house and gite: See Farmhouse in the Loire Valley on 1.3 Hectares. Bath towels and pool towels are not provided. MAIN HOUSE: 5 bedrooms and sleeps 13 people. There are two toilets, 2 bathtubs and 2 showers. There are two family rooms. Main House Downstairs: -Family room; -Kitchen with dishwasher; -Bedroom with queen bed, en suite with sink, shower, & separate jetted bathtub; -Second bathroom with toilet and sink only; -Laundry room with a washer & a dryer Main House Upstairs: Living room/game room with queen sofa bed, Bathroom with sink, tub, shower and toilet, 4 Bedrooms: -Two bedrooms with queen beds -One bedroom with two singles that can be pushed together with a topper to make a King bed -One bedroom with a bunk bed and 1 single Gite ( NOT INCLUDED but can be rented by you- See listing above) GITE Downstairs- Family room, 1 sofa bed and kitchen GITE Upstairs- There is a private bedroom with a queen bed. In the common area at the top of the stairs is a daybed that has 2 single beds. Also upstairs is the Bathroom with bathtub, shower and sink and a Laundry room with toilet and washer/dryer. OUTSIDE The pool is fenced, with a solar cover to keep the water warm but it is not heated. The pool is open May 1 - September 30. The main house has private outdoor dining spaces in the side and front yard and also private dining space on the back patio within the large walled garden where the pool is. You have your own gas grill for outdoor cooking. With 1.3 hectares, there is plenty of private space for everyone. The pool is fenced. The walled garden is a great area for kids to play in or they can run around among the entire property. Kids are easily entertained with the many games and toys provided. Maison très agréable, au calme et grande ! Bien équipée pour des enfants en bas âge. Isolée, pas peur de déranger. Nous avons passé un super séjour, à 3 familles avec 5 enfants !
This is a perfect place to rest in comfort in the countryside with rural views from all sides of the property, yet it is still close to major roads, TGV trains and cultural sites. The local area is full of walking and biking routes. You can stroll to town through the countryside along the path or bike down the lane. Bikes are also at your disposal including kids bikes and child seats.
Just steps away from the house is a bridge over a small river - fun to bring the kids to feed the ducks and to fish. Across from the house, you can take a short hike up the hill to the chateau or walk the path from behind the house into town to another chateau.
The house is 2km from the quaint village of Le Grand-Pressigny with many amenities including a boulangerie, butcher, restaurants, tourist office, market, post office, banks, hotel, shops and a hillside chateau that houses a well known Prehistory museum.
Every Thursday there is a little market in the town square that offers fresh products from the town and region.
There is also a community center with tennis, pool, playground and soccer field 1 km from the house.
The town also has a picnic area by the river.

Museum of Prehistory is located in the Chateau in town. The Chateau is at the top of a hill in town and has a picnic area and wonderful views. You can walk the grounds for free and there is a small admission fee for the museum.

Local chateaus that offer tours are easy distances to bike to with picnic areas 10 km away. There is also a very cute restaurant with an outdoor seating by the aviary full of brightly colored songbirds and parrots. You may even catch the mother feeding the babies! Very enjoyable for both kids and adults to see and hear!
Popular market towns of Loches and Chauvigny are 30 min away with markets a couple times a week.

Le Grand- Pressigny, located in the Indre-et-Loire, is an ideal base to explore the Loire Valley countryside with many châteaux, medieval towns, beautiful villages, vineyards, gardens and markets.
A guest book at the house provides detailed information of local things to do close by within 15 minutes -hikes, picnic areas, local chateaus. It also includes many popular chateaux that can be reached in about an hour on a very pretty drive through the countryside.

Enjoy the new La Voie Verte. From the house, walk or bike to town on the tree lined path that used to be the old railway line.

To take a short hike to another chateau across from the house: Go across the bridge from the house, take a left towards Le Grand-Pressigny and you will see a dirt road on your right marked for trails. Take a short hike up the hill to the chateau and from there you can continue to hike into Le Grand-Pressigny.
There is a community pool, tennis, playground and soccer field 1.6km from the house.
Markets: Every Thursday there is a little market in the town square that offers fresh products from the town and region. Loches- larger market Wednesday and Saturday morning.

•30 min close to Loches are the villages of Beaulieu-les-Loches and Chanceaux-prés-Loches, both Ferriere-Larcon and Boussay are very pleasant.
•1 hour: Rigny-Usse; Chinon (wine caves); Tours; Vouvray (popular wineries); Chenonceaux; Amboise; Villandry; Richelieu; Poitiers; Futuroscope, Orleans (capital of the region) and Blois. We also suggest you visit Beaugency, site of one of the famous battles of Joan of Arc, and Valencay. A little further off the beaten track, to the north-east is the quiet village of Saint-Ouen-les-Vignes -very scenic.
TGV (high speed train) 30 min away in Chatellerault with trains to/from Paris (1.5 hours), Tours, Poitiers and La Rochelle on the coast.
