We had a lovely stay in Sylvie's Gite. We picked this place because we were going skiing at Ax 3 Domaines, a ski resort about a 30 mins drive down the road and this was a decent compromise between not being too far away from the ski slopes and having some peace & quiet in the lovely French countryside. The location is also extremely close to Les Grottes de Lombrives, a massive and beautiful cave system well worth a visit and we definitely enjoyed our visit there. The apartment itself is small but we had everything we needed, it was exactly as it was advertised and whenever we asked for anything, we were given what we needed. So for example, when we arrived there (very late at night) there was no soap/shower gel but when I asked for it in the morning, it was delivered very promptly. The check-in/out was easily done via a lock-box so we didn't meet Sylvie, which was just as well as we arrived so late and I didn't want to keep her up waiting for us to drive in from the airport. There is also a well-stocked kitchen with everything you might need to prepare a meal and there's a massive supermarket in Tarascon just 2 km away. The heating can be easily adjusted in the room so you can be warm and comfortable no matter how cold it gets. The building may look old and a bit unloved from the outside but the interior of the apartment is so modern and nice. There were a few small issues though these weren't major: the water pressure was a bit weak, so the shower experience wasn't great - like it worked, but it wasn't what I was used to. Likewise, the internet was somewhat slow compared to what I am used to in a big city. There was a TV with loads of stations and they were all French, I speak French so that's not a problem but what about guests who may want an English, Spanish, German or Italian station instead? The location is really in a remote part of the French countryside so the only sensible way to access the location is if you have a rental car - if you're thinking of staying here whilst using public transport, it would be a huge challenge. I would have also liked to have had some curtains as it got light at about 7:30 am (this was late February mind you, it will get light a lot sooner in summer) and if you're easily awoken by light then this could pose a problem for you. And finally, I communicated with Sylvie entirely in French as I speak French, I have no idea if she speaks English or how good it is, but this seems to be a part of the world where there aren't that many foreign visitors as we're so deep in the French countryside. But all that aside, yeah for what it was worth, I was very satisfied with my experience there.

L appartement est comme sur les photos : moderne , comme neuf , avec tout ce qu il faut pour passer un super séjour. Tout était très propre et le contact avec Sylvie a été très facile et immédiat. On y retournera .

Un super week-end dans le gîte de Sylvie. Une arrivée autonome très facile grâce aux explications fournies par Sylvie. Des petits gâteaux à notre arrivée ainsi que le chauffage déjà mis nous a ravi ! Nous avons super bien dormi grâce à un super lit et surtout un grand lit. Le gîte est à environ 25 min d'Ax les thermes ce qui nous a permis de profiter pleinement des alentours. Encore merci pour ce petit séjour qui était super.
