Had such a lovely stay at Roger’s apartment. The location is amazing and the place itself felt nice and cosy. Roger was always there when I had questions and is a great host. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to be near the beach in a nice and peaceful neighbourhood.

To be fair, I haven’t seen the apartment in person. But I trust that the apartment is decent. I had to cancel the booking on the check-in day due to severe flooding and landslide in Hong Kong - the government issued an unprecedented black rain warning on Sep 8, 2023. Stanley is a beautiful beach resort during normal time, but under such circumstances, the only two roads in and out Stanley were damaged on that day, and the only supermarket there was closed. It is impossible for me to get in for check-in and it is foreseeably difficult for me to get by there at least for 1-2 weeks (my booking is two weeks). I have sent photos to owner. But owner was not very happy about cancellation request and I went through cancellation via customer service (which was granted under severe weather policy of airbnb). I understand that owner reserved this time block for me and it is last minute cancellation. But it is natural disaster out of anyone’s control and I would prioritize people’s safety.
