Welcome to my humble home! I am centrally located and minutes to downtown, events, healthcare facilities, the lake, airport, stores, eateries, and more. My home vibe is welcoming and lived in, such as you were visiting, a great friend or family member. The shared areas are used as they should be. Make yourself comfortable with coffee or tea, put your feet up on the table and enjoy TV or a book in the living room. I live here full-time, and you are my guest in a true person’s live home. Welcome to my humble home! My home was built in 1906. It is a vintage home, which includes wood work, wood floors, and built ins. It is not a perfect home, but it has character and is well-maintained. This listing is for Rm #1, and includes a full size bed. There is also a desk and a chair if you need to do some work. The kitchen island as well as the dining table are good work areas as well as a portable desk is available. My vibrant home is comfortable for short and long stays. The vibe is comfortable and feeling at home like you were staying at a good friend or families home. ***please note! I live here full time with my cats. When I have guests I stay upstairs on the third floor in my private space. I typically will only venture down to the unit if I need to use the bathroom or make a quick meal. The cats do have free roam of the house, but typically they are my shadows and will be hanging out near me. if any of this is a concern to you, please message me to answer any further questions or to make arrangements for any requests. I enjoyed my first time in Milwaukee so much and the space I stayed and Tanya had a lot to do with that experience. Tanya was friendly, helpful, and super informative. I checked out a few places she recommended and really enjoyed myself! I loved being around her sweet cats and lounging on the balcony eating my dinner in the sunshine and looking out at the neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again.
Tanya was an excellent host (and her cats, especially turkey!). Super helpful with any issues, and went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Would definitely recommend :)
This location was exactly what we needed for a wedding we were attending - we were mostly here just for one night of sleep and didn’t use the kitchen, but the location was perfect for our needs!
Tanya’s place was as nice as the pictures. It’s a classic older Milwaukee home, with all the quirks and charms that go along with that status. Lockbox was easy to find. The rooms are located on an upper level - so be aware there are stairs. The room I was in was perfect for sleeping - quiet, dark, with a comfortable bed. There were plenty of linens provided. Tanya was a fabulous host - we spent some time each evening just chatting about various subjects. The “welcoming committee” of kitties were always present, but never overwhelming. Tanya’s place definitely merits a return visit!

The home is located in the city so there are typical things such as people from all walks of life using the sidewalk, bicyclers, and typical road traffic in front of my home.
The city of Milwaukee is nicknamed "city of neighborhoods", occupying 42 square miles of land and consisting of 191 documented neighborhoods! This home is located in the neighborhood called "Lincoln Village", one of a few in this area called "near southside of Milwaukee". I've lived here 18 yrs and couldn't think of a better place to live.
My street is a main thoroughfare that will take you to/from all sides of town. There is a large amount of everything located within and under 3 miles of my home.
My home's location is very central, I like to say I'm 15 minutes from everywhere! The street is a 2 lane main thoroughfare that starts in the suburbs and goes north through downtown and beyond. This is the city, so like any populated area, there are sidewalks, people walking and bicycling, as well as neighbors and families living all around. There is the typical street traffic during business hours, but dies down after.
- The highway entrance is a few blocks away.
- Downtown Milwaukee is 1.5 miles: 5-10 min on the freeway, 10-15 on local streets.
- Lake Michigan/South Shore Park/Bay View is 5 minute drive 1.5 mile
- Harley Museum 1 mile
- St. Josephat's Basilica 1 block
- Downtown 3miles
- Summerfest/Art museum 2.5 miles
- Mitchell International Airport 7.4 miles
- Bay View has farmers markets on Saturdays from 8am -noon. There are other farmers markets available through Milwaukee and suburbs on pretty much every day of the week!
- In summer, Music in the parks is available (and free!) in different parks throughout the city M-F.
The city bus stop is 4 houses away, as well as rideshare options like Uber and Lyft are always around. If you bring a bicycle, it can be brought inside and stored in the unit or locked up to the porch, railing In front of the bushes where you enter my home.. Bubblr bicycles are also available at different locations around town. One thing I love about living in my home is that I can walk anywhere! Grocery stores, retail stores, Lake Michigan, parks, recreation, restaurants, watering holes and nightlife are all located nearby.
For guests staying only a day or 2, your car can be registered online for free overnight parking; Detailed info can be found on our city's website.
