Our family loved staying at Whistle Run. Charlotte and Marvin were exceptional hosts and very responsive. The place is close enough to Durango (10 minutes), and Silverton is just up the road, but it has a nice remote feel. We enjoyed the train, the cows, the beautiful cliffs, and scenery. The house itself is top-notch and very roomy. we spent a lot of time with the BBQ and on the back deck or at the fire pits. Nice area if you like being outside. It felt like we were leaving our home after a week there and were sad to go. Definitely a unique and wonderful place. Special kudos to Charlotte and Marvin for bringing us fruit after we had some freeze in the new fridge. That was a very nice gesture. Certainly worthy of a return visit!

Whistle Run was a beautiful home with gorgeous views of the mountains. Our family loved waving at the train as it went by. Charlotte & Marvin were very helpful and accommodating. I would love to stay here again in the Fall/Winter!

Durango CO was a great destination and Whistle Run was the perfect accommodation for our family vacation. Charlotte and Marvin were so kind and attentive to our needs. If you are a cooking family bring your food, spices, and condiments. Every thing you could need in a kitchen is there and that was amazing. Whistle Run isn’t a rental space like some, it is a cozy home. I would come back here if If were to visit Durango again.

Our family’s stay at Whistle Run was wonderful. The home and the location were beyond my expectations. Cradled in the woods makes it feel idyllic and left us restored. The daily Durango Silverton train was so charming and against the backdrop of the Animas river valley below was a spectacular sight. This will stay in our memory for years. I cannot thank Charlotte enough for being the consummate host that she was. The details on the home and the area were second to none and her detailed responses were always welcome and quick. I felt like we got a concierge service as part of the home. The house itself is spectacular and fully stocked with all the equipment one would need to make as many meals as desired. The bedrooms were comfortable, luxurious and welcoming. There’s even a printer available for any business needs one might have. As a treat, we got to see a bear stroll the neighborhood one evening from the safety of the house. Amazing and cannot recommend enough.
