We had a great stay. Host was very responsive. Space for storing ski equipment in the basement was very convenient. Perfect location. 5 min walk to Gutsch lift and 2 min walk to Gemsstock lift. The entire town is walkable. Grocery store, butcher, and train are 5 min walks as well. Andermatt is small, no base lodge to change at so wear your equipment to the lift.

Mate's place was exactly what I was looking for, a spacious home base for some remote work and skiing, and the value for money in Andermatt can't be beat. The location was also perfect, being 3 minutes walking to Gemsstock, 8 minutes from the train station, and very close to the restaurants, bars and the Coop. The wifi was good enough to work at ~30mbps average (though for some video calls I tethered my iphone's 5G network), the water pressure in the shower was excellent, and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook up simple meals. Mate was also a great host, very responsive, flexible, and gave me great recommendations for the town. I will stay here again when I return to Andermatt!

Great Place. Excellent value. Great Host. Read all the other reviews. Let me tell you a few great things the other reviews don't. If you're a skier this place is awesome--only about 200 yards from the cable car that serves the best skiing in the area and the only slopes that are north facing. Not quite ski in- ski out but darn close. All expert and intermediate terrain, so not full of skiers. And there is a free ski room at the cable car that they lock at night so we left our skis there and just walked down in our shoes and changed into our boots in the ski room. So ski experience was awesome. Apartment is in a quiet neighborhood with nice views. The town is small so everything is walkable. But the red line bus that runs every 30 minutes during the day is right across the street. So super convenient. Overall outstanding vacation not even counting the excellent snow we had. Highly recommend.

A great homely place to stay and relax after a hard days skiing Good space for relaxation not just bed. Traditional charm matched what we wanted from our stay. Good location for Gemstock and only a short walk to train and Gondola. Mate out host was very helpful. I took my sons skiing as we do each year. They were very happy with their stay. Philip
