This is the perfect house to gather friends and family for a weekend get away or enjoying any occasion and holiday. There are 5 spacious bedrooms, full kitchen with two ovens and a large gass stove top, there are 5 living room areas throughout the house, 3 1/2 bathrooms with one of them adjoining the master bedroom. The house has 3 floors and the 3rd floor has its own living area that are loved by the children. Its 15 minutes to the ski slope and lakes for fishing and swimming. Situated in the country side by the Norwegian boarder to Sweden, Magnor house offers the ultimate relax country living. It's only ten minute from the Swedish boarder shopping open seven days a week, and 1 1/2 hour drive to the capital Oslo. The famous Magnor Glassware factory has their outlet store in the center of Magnor Village. Magnor House is a typical Norwegian "Swiss house". Being built 200 years ago it has been added on and renovated into the house it is today. up until the 1950s our house housed the village black smith, wood workshop and it even served as a Bed and Breakfast. We renovated the house in 2014 and brought it to modern standards. The house is situated at the edge of the forest at the top of a rolling hill landscape with the best sunset (the sun goes down after 11pm in the summer)! The garden is lovely with flowerbeds, large grass areas and sitting ares around the house so you can follow the sun.
Magnor house is situated on rolling hills close to lakes, ski park and cross country skiing. The house is a five minute drive to the new Vestre The Plus experience factory, Magnor Glassverk and shopping in Sweden.
On the Norwegian side of the boarder the houses are mainly white farm houses. Just across on the Swedish side you'll find small red cottage style homes with picket fences. Otherwise it will take you some time to see the differences between these two countries. When you do you will be quick to pick up your favorites from each side. Being the Norwegian dairy, fresh baked bread from the local bakery, glassware production or the Swedish boarder shopping and ski resort. People travel for hours to shop at the boarder outlet stores. Sport wear and clothing, to food and wine. Wild life and fishing is on your door steps, and village festivals for any occasion. This is an area of Norway with a long history going back to the viking age as a travel path between the two countries. The old stone wall separating them is still there in the fields.
Public buses stops at the center of Magnor. The train from Sweden and inland Norway stops at the nerby village Charlottenberg. One of the main highways between Norway and Sweden passes Magnor and makes it easy to get to. As Magnor is a boarder town its many trails in any directions. There are trails leading along the boarder all the way north and south. During the second world war these trails were used frequently to smugle people from Norway to Sweden.
