Our family spent 4 fantastic days in Braemar. The area is beautiful , a lot to do also with children. Beautiful walks directly from the house. It was a great pleasure to meet Anna and her husband ! The house is cosy, perfect for 2 adults and 2 children like us.

I would have given this five stars except: this place is not a cottage. It is listed specifically as an “entire cottage”, but actually it’s a flat attached to a cottage. If there is anyone in the main part of the cottage, the noise might be quite different. (There was no one in the main part while I was in the flat.) Anna is very communicative & helpful, but I did feel that the outside photo of the place did not accurately capture the fact that this accommodation is just part of Morrone Cottage. The inside pics are accurate. The kitchen cookware is a bit dated, for example no fry pan that has a smooth finish, but it’s manageable.

Awful! We were 25 minutes away from Braemar when the Glenshee road was closed due to a fatal road traffic accident. The police were not helpful and didn’t tell us an alternative route. Eventually we worked out that we had to do a 95 mile alternative route. So we arrived 2 hours later than envisaged! When we finally arrived at Morrone Cottage, we were surprised that the connecting door to the House next door was unlocked and so was the outside access door. We also discovered that the beds in the Cottage were small single beds and, because the bedrooms were small with gabled roofs, they could not be pushed together. We phoned the owner, Anna, noting that there was a double bed in a room in the corridor to the House. She kindly said that we could use that as there would be nobody in the House that week. The double bed was in a room and there was little room for anything else! But it was better than the single beds upstairs. to be continued...

We stayed in Anna's cosy and comfortable cottage couple of days during our stay in lovely Braemar village. The cottage is situated in close proximity of several nice hiking routes and he Cairngorms National Park. It has very nice garden with access to the nature. The village also has several restaurants and good services e.g. grocery store and pharmacy. The cottage suited very well for our stay (which also included lot of hiking) and was very cosy and homely. Anne was very communicative during the reservation process and gave us clear instructions how to reach and access the cottage. We liked Braemar and Anna's cottage and would have no hesitations to reserve it again.

An amazing place to stay, great walking on the doorstep in a gem of a place in Scotland. Most things shut early in the week so if you want to enjoy the local shops and patisserie ensure you stay from Thursday through the weekend. Co-op has all you need. Compact space, ceiling height upstairs limited - but not an issue for us. Stone flag floors, amazing garden space shared with main house next door also let.
